Lets not get to crazy about this. I live on the gulf side of Fl and spend a lot of time on and in the gulf waters. So I have done some research on the subject. Your chances of getting infected while swimming in the gulf even with an open wound (which you should not do) is very very rare. Due to dilution. In fact you are more likely to get infected by eating raw oysters in summer months. NOW our tanks are a completely different story.
