6 gallon nano in progress!!!!

i found a nano tank in our attic...a acrylic 6 gallon tank....used to be freshwater.
i want to know if there are any good gallon per hour h.o.b. filters.
and are there any t5 lights and moonlights that will fit 15 inches?
also...post any pics of your tanks 6 gallons or less....

Just about any online fish supply place will probably have a few choices of 12" and 18" PC lights and T5 lights.
The same goes for small power filters. Just click the aquarium supplies button the left and look through the list of items.

thanks...i need exact models and prices if that helps

sorry im a kid and i dont got much money so im looking for the chepest t5 i can get....i need something lower than 16 inches and about lower that 200 dollars (everything included)
thanks clay (=

im looking for one that has fans , led moonlights...and good power for any corals i want...i might only get a couple fish and some kewl invertebrates like a harlequin pair

Most of that stuff that u want will be under the supplies part of this website and if its not then we are not allowed to post them (competition), Just look around on yahoo or something, or just go to your lfs and ask them if they have what you need.
Harlequin Shrimp are really cool and small so they wood make a great addition to a 6g and are not hard to care for (for the most part). The only problem with them is that they need live starfish to feed on. Now you could probably stick a little starfish in there and they will just eat it as they need to, all you would have to do is try to keep it alive for aslong as you can (feed it, if it does die then definatly take it out so your levels do go crazy) Ill try to find the thread that i asked about them on.

thanks rattler...ill prolly get an anenome crab and a harlequin crab too...do u think there is any way i could get one to eat frozen food??

well as for frozen probly not they eat ONLY starfish. If you want one then i would make it happy and just give it what it wants. If you only have one then it will take a long time to eat the whole thing so it might not even be that expensive. (mandarins ONLY eat pods but some have gotten them to eat frozen, so i guess anything is possible but i would always have an extra starfish on hand while you are trying different frozen
)
Read that thread it will answer some of your questions.

thanks...i could put a starfish in my dt just in case
ill always have a few starfish either way....wats the least expensive starfish to buy?
i cant use a choc chip star cuz i eventually want corals

good ideas...but would i just cut his leg off with scissors or a knife or what....also...i would prolly have to keep no coral in that tank then cuz i cant afford anything other than cc stars....if i just left the star in there....would he eat it really quick or what?

If you have a starfish in the tank the harley will definatly go for that instead of frozen (if you can get it to eat it) and if you want starfish in the tank then I would not get a harley (you will not be able to keep starfish alive) and if you want a harley then i would not get a starfish unless its food. Sry it kinda one or the other and besides most starfish are not reef safe so if you have corals then i would say that you should just go with the harley CC starfish are probably the least $$ and should be fine as long as they are WELL fed. If you dont want to take any chances then you should probably feed them sand sifter stars
Frozen starfish could also be a possibility (put starfish in the freezer and cut it into pieces and thaw out the pieces and give them that and see if that works).
I wish i had the money to get some harleys but I am broke

You could do that with scissors or a knife or razorblade or ect.
I would try the frozen starfish idea
(idk if it will work but would guess it would) that way you can have corals, and if not i have heard of CC starfish being ok with corals as long as as you keep them well fed
As for how fast, on the thread i think he says like one leg a week with two harleys, so
.
I cant say from experience but i have read a lot on them cause i want to get one when i get some $$$

i think i might try the frozen idea....we will see....i might do a mandarin only tank in the 6 gallon...just him and some corals
