Anything you can do to protect the wires is a good idea. You need to acclimate the tank to the new lighting slowly. Even with a fowlr if you do not acclimate the lighting you could get a major algae bloom and coralline die off. Good luck!!
IMO glitter lines are a big difference between VHO and MH. The reason is too detailed for this post though. If anyone's interested then start a new topic about glitter lines.
I just want to than you so much for your time you have given and your advice really has helped me. I was thinking or starting the new light with 2 hours the firts day and add an hour every day after that would that be too aggressive with fowlr?
