I use these 400 watt Iwasaki) on my 120 gallon tank with 2 110 watt actinics and I think the color is perfect. It is not blue of yellow but a it is a perfect white (in my eyes).

These bulbs are the current PAR champion. If you want to grow SPS fast, these are the bulbs. You will NOT get optimum color from your SPS though (exceptions happen of course).
Be sure to buy the "DL" version.

I would use a pair or 250 or 400 watt Iwasaki Mercury Vapor bulbs on a Mercury Vapor ballast. I would supplement it with 4 URI SuperActinics run off an IceCap 660 Ballast.
This is assuming your 90 gal is 48" long.

I have no clue. It has just been my experience and I've noticed it with other reefs.

The Iwasakis are top quality bulbs. The 6500k rating will give you a very yellow coloring. I use a single 250w 6500k bulb in my reef. It looks like natural sunlight, which is kind of neat, but the colors in my corals/fish are not as vibrant. A more blue colored bulb will bring out the colors more.

I am currently using two 65k 400watt Iwasaki and 2 110watt URI actinics and to me this is a perfect combo. It takes the yellow out and leaves it looking very natural.
