o.k. all test are done, ro water going in. this is the worst part of a build

it will take about a day and half. this is moving a slower than i would have liked but that is life
still have a small leak in the "scwd" plumbing to work with but it is just one fitting to work on so that will not be hard to take care of. the wife said i have to move some the base rock more to the middle of the tank and that should be all but the cycle. this is going to be fun
hope all of you have fun watching this come together as i have watched some of your's

I know how you feel. Just set up a 240 gallon about a month ago. I had about a days notice so I did get 75g of water made up a head of time but it was a slow process.

pics will come later, laptop at work, home pc will not upload pics?????

but it is up and running, but not without it's faults. is there a such thing a to much water flow, i have a mag 12 on the main return and mag 9.5 on the "scwd" it worked great on the test runs with fresh water but not so good now. can not get the micro bubbles out.
"scwd" pump off at this time to see if that make a better.

i now know what my problem is with the pumps. i had to change the front cover of the mag12.(that i broke the day it got here)
so i put a new cover on, and that made the gph go up.
so that is why it is not working the same as it did a day or two ago. may try a gate valve on the "scwd" and mag9.5 to see if that helps, but do not have one at this time so lights out. will pick one up

i will post some pics as soon as the water clears up, just added the live sand.

but that was not the fun part, has anyone ever had a heater break

i heard something pop in the tank but with the water cloudy i just was thinking that a rock fell or something, noooootttttttt.

i put my hand in to move a filter pad and oh crap.

that was not fun at all. the first time was like your old freezer and grandma's house that was rusty on the side and you could get a littel bite.
the second one was ohhhhh #*!! the heater came on and that hit me very hard.
the kids went and got the soap out for my mouth. but that just happens sometimes

p.s. pics very soon

ok still here,
had the tank off, was a little gunshy
had some thing go wrong with the lights. thay would not come on
this is a used set of lights that came with the tank that i was just using for work, and cleanup so i could see what i was doing, but it is a icecap vho 4x48" 440watt light kit. but as you now know i ammmm gunnnnnnshhyyyy

the now have the pumps all going and the lights all working so i will take some pics very soon. just give some time to stop shaking from the oshshhsht.
it should be clear in the morning.

ok just ordered a starter kit for the 180 and some new lights

i also ordered a new heater, one that is not glass i do not like being hit like that, i do have some issues with a'fib, that is a heart condition that most people will have at some point of there life, i just started at a young age of "12".
so the tank is very much on it's way, and we are having lots of fun.
