8g to something bigger...

Hello, I have decided that I want to transfer to a bigger tank. Currently I have an 8g Biocube. I want to stay in the nano sizes. I am debating on a 14g Biocube, or some other type of nano brand like the Nanocube....etc. What do you all think I should get? I also want to know how I would go about doing this transfer.

well if you go with a 14g get 6 gallons of SW and add the water plus the water of your current tank. i think like that it will work fine.

Okay, so if I do it this way do I still have to cycle the 14? And do I still have to acclimate all my fish to my new tank?

What are you doing with the 8g? Are you going to add more LR?
Are you going to buy fully cured LR?
Depending on that...depends on how you would have to set it up...

I am going to put fully cured lr in the 14 along with the lr that is already in my 8g. Idk what I'm going to do with the 8g after I move everything. I kind of want a horse tank, but it would be super hard.

8g is too small for regular horses, and dwarfs seem really hard...
I would probably put the new LR in the 14g with enough sw to cover it...hmmm...maybe 6g's worth (LOL) let it run like that for a couple of days and test the water....JUST IN CASE
what about the sand??

hmm...I don't know. It might be hard to transfer the sand. I might have to get new sand. It probably wouldn't be that hard though. I just don't want to kill all the organisms in it.

WELL....IMO you can get a 10lb bag of aragonite, carefully scoop half of what is in your 8g out (for bacteria purposes) and add it to the 10lbs in your 14g...let the sand and new rock settle ..test..add the rest of the rock and the fishies...good to go
