Size requirement.... I have a 90 gal 4 ft tank... although it may not be huge in respect for a tang, I wont have any problem keeping one correct?

I would say its possible, also possible to keep other types of tangs, however, you need to be responsible enough to determine if there is any stress involved with the size of your tang. If it grows and grows and shows signs of needing a larger place to swim then, you should be able to swap, donate, or do something to give it a better home and go to a smaller tang once again until it grows.
I have a 90 but have never placed a tang in it. I just feel they need a larger tank of 5 feet. Not to say that the temptation isn't there, and some day I just might break down and get a tang, but if I do I'll follow my above advise.

For a fish that lives 30 - 50 years i would hardly call 3 years a success story.:)
Take a look at a Kole Tang and see if you like it as they are far more suited to a 4ft tank.

Sometimes tangs fight, so I've heard an odd number is better. It's hard to predict what any fish will or won't do, so it's a risk.
Having said that, I'm not sure about more than one in a ninety. I have a yellow in my 90, and he's small--less than three inches. I also have lots of current. It's important they get a lot of vegetable matter in their diets. Mine likes the seaweed salad that I clip in the tank, spirulina (sp?) tablets, and the frozen emerald entree. My dad has a 125 in his collection, so I'm ready to swap out with him if the tank starts getting too cramped for my yellow. Just something to think about.

Uneducated statements such as this make me laugh, they are happy?...Who are you? Dr Doolittle???? Just because they are swimming and picking at the rocks does not make them happy. Oh i did not notice you have had them for 2 months well i stand corrected this is proof they are happy finally someone successful in Tang raising its sooo refreshing. (sarcasm fyi)...Let me know how they are in 20 years or better yet 50 years.
I dont mean to be rude but some things just irritate me (and i just quit smoking)

You say swimming and eating off the rocks doesn't mean the tangs are happy, BUT IT ALSO DOESN'T MEAN THEY ARE UNHAPPY! Your not DR. Dolittle either. I have a hippo tang in my 75 that has 110 lbs of rock and I am working on some corals and my tang seems real happy. No, I don't know that she is happy for a fact, but her color was off when I first put her in my tank, now it's back and she is active and very healthy. To me that says a fish is happy! She has the nicest colors I've seen in a hippo tang!
Not meaning to be rude, just get frustrated with the way poeple talk to each other on here sometimes, we are all adults doing a hobby we love and lets treat each other with some respect!

While I tend to agree with GreatfullReefer that a bigger tank is likely better if you have 3 tangs, I would just like to say that GreatfullReefer is also not Dr. Doolittle. GreatfullReefer, have you been able to keep a tang for 30-50 years? I would guess very few people have if for no other reason that just because they haven't been in the hobby that long. Do you assume your fish is unhappy until it has lived that long? If people see their fish acting just as it should, with no sign of disease or stress then why should they not assume it is happy at least for the time being? For all you know these people with 3 tangs in a 90 have baby tangs that are 2" each and have a 400 gallon tank to move them to later. Although I will admit, that I doubt that is the case.
