While working with a guy on one of his corals, he commented on the pretty Frog in the bottom of the shot....
So I looked back and found a shot of him when he was new as a one stem 10 dollar frag in Jan. on 07.
He turned out to be a decent 10 dollar frag .Who says this stuff is all too expensive!!

Yes they can and do sting. Not as bad an Elegance or such but he does search. Especially in the evenings it seems. Sometimes this guy puts out a particular tentacle or two six or eight inches just searching for another coral or food . He does not seem to bother the cheap stuff like weeds, some Zoa's,Palys roons, cloves etc...The one I have much worse is a huge Pink Pearl at the other end of the tank, I can't keep anything near him, he sucks the life out of them all.

In addition they can form sweeper tentacles that reach out & touch corals even 10" away. They are generally safe next to other Euphyllias though.

I have had them fight with Green Hairy Mushrooms but no other mushrooms. It would not surprise me to hear about them fighting Zoas but generally you should be OK. There are just a lot of exceptions so there are no guarantees.

Hard to tell which it may try to eat or hurt.
Guy I have a huge Green Hairy just under him and that one he seems to leave alone. They have been real close since my tank move i May or 07 .You can see the edge of him in the shot. You say you have had issues with these two being close. I always trust your wisdom..... Warren

LOL, I believe you! I should always say "Your results may vary"

This is what I was calling a "Green Hairy":
