Achilles Tang trying to eat krill???

My Achilles Tang always tries to eat little chunks of krill that I put into the tank for my Humu Trigger. The Achilles Tang is never successful in eating the krill. It looks as if the AT's mouth just isnt designed for eating krill, which makes sense because I was under the impression that the AT was a vegetarian (The AT eats seaweed and algae like a maniac).
Usually what happens is the AT grabs the krill as soon as it hits the water, then pulls the krill to the bottom and tries to eat it (really it looks more like the AT is holding the krill in its mouth and he swims back and forth across the tank floor).
After a minute of so of this, the Humu decides that he wants the krill and quickly steals it from the AT and eats it in a few bites.
My question is, is this normal for an AT? Is this a sign that anything is wrong with the diet of the AT?
The AT is about 2x larger than the Humu
The AT eats seaweed and flakes
The 2 fish never fight or act aggressive toward each other
Both fish seem healthy
Thanks,
Tor

My yellow and blug tangs like krill, too (and brine, and blood worms, and other meaty foods). I feed my x-mas wrasse and lobster krill, and the tangs go bananas over it. I usually chop it up, though, so they have an easier time eating it.
I wouldn't worry as long as your tang is healthy and eating.

Ok, thanks for your advice. I try to be as much proactive rather than reactive when it comes to anything dealing with my fishes.
Thanks again,
Tor

Tangs are omnivores and require animal protein in addition to algae. They are NOT vegetarian. Your Tang may be desperatly trying to supplement its diet but the agressive Trigger won't let it.

Tangs are omnivores but really need veggie matter most (nori best option). Diet s/b supplemented with meaty products soaked in selcon or zoe. Brine sheimp, mysis, blood worms, and plankton are some good choices.
