When adding more salt to a new tank, how long does it take for the salinity to go up?

when all the salt dissolved... probably a few minutes with water constantly moving. You might not be adding enough salt... Sea water contains 3.5% salt. So, for 100 gallon tank, put in it 3.5 gallons of salt.

Depends on your water flow turnover rate. A couple minutes probably. You're better off doing a topoff with normal saltwater to raise the salinity gradually than adding salt directly to the water.

Yes, many LFS sell pre maid saltwater.
However, I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you setting up saltwater for the first time in your tank and you're trying to get the salinity right, or are you adding salt to a saltwater tank to get the salinity up?
Could you clarify please?
