I did the fix the ads using your fix, but forgot how to do it. Can you PM me. The downside is that we still see the ad placeholders, and forum only appears on 2/3 of the webpage. Adblock removes the placeholders and gives us a full page forum.
Those ads spam your computer, which my AV has to go in and qurantine daily. Someone else here, had a fix for that too.

I use Firefox and Privoxy and the only ads I have seen are the "featured sponsors" which are 4 static little squares in the upper left side. Since they are for Tunze, Tropical Fish Magazine, Acclimate and Boyd Enterprises, I assume they are actual SWF sponsors and not the forum hosts like everyone is describing.

PMed ya beth. Course, this could have been solved if my original post wasnt deleted. You were involved with it too beth. You stated my method didnt get rid of the 4 squares but eliminated the ads.

Here is the weird thing....Adblock is now working again...BUT....I got a message saying the FREE version can only block so many ads per day....I was browsing some other places looking for stuff, and I bet their ads caused this.......
Thanks MONSI.....I got the pm, and will save that

Does the ISP that hosts this site have a Proxy Server on their network that you can go through? If so, that can be configured to block any and all traffic considered as 'ads'. I have one on my network, and I don't even see the Featured Sponsors ads.

OK...Just did what MONSI told me to do...most ads have disappeared, EXCEPT...I have 4 small boxes on the right that say featured sponsors, BUT are empty
anyway to get rid of these too?

I couldn't care less if they were on the top....BUT they are on the side, therefore they take up 1/4 of my page :(

Actually, its 1/3 of the page. And the ads create tracking cookies on your pc that are designed to plug in ads that might be appealing to you based on places you visit on the web.
Sounds kinda Patriot Act-ish to me, with a capitalist twist.

The simple fix would be to get the webmaster to simply turn the ads off. But I imagine if they did that, the site may no longer exist. It's the price you pay these days to keep a business profitable. Buy more fish and products from SWF.com, and they may turn them off. I doubt it though. If I was getting a nice little check from some company that I promoted their ads by doing nothing more than adding a widget to my web page, I wouldn't turn it off.
