It won't be unneeded...
The reason for a power head is simple. The water wave/current in the ocean is the life of the ocean, it carries away waste, it brings food to the corals and adds oxygen to the water. When people began keeping SW tanks, copying the ocean is what works best.
Creating a water current in the tank does the same thing the waves do in the ocean. Those flowing corals you see dancing have no muscles or bones, they dance with the water current. That is how they eat and catch their food. It only looks quiet and calm in a reef tank..it's actually very turbulent.

I don't have an MP40, but I don't hear my Koralia power heads.

I have been told the MP40 is much better, I know they are more expensive.

The mp40 is much better than the koralia. I know several people that own them, and they say they will never go back to having koralias.

HMMMM...our anniversary is in 2 weeks....LOL....
NAH....I have bought soooo much stuff.....we are now going to get quotes for our 30x40 building....AND THEN.....My husband really wants a "side by side" Rhino I think
they cost like $10,000

....he would love to have it before November (HUNTING SEASON) BUT he is going to search really hard for a cheaper brand....HAHAHAHAH

Is it hard to take care of them?
