Well...As if I didnt have enough things to worry about I just found a crack in the front bottom right corner of my tank, its like triangle shaped.
I just called aga and the guy told me I would have to call Monday and talk to the office, He was just one of the workers in the back.
We will see how aga stands behind products!
The tank isnt even a year old, I purchased it last Feb.

Well it sure looks like an impact chip to me. It even gives the appearance there is glass remains in the bottom of the missing pieces area...It will be interesting to see if they replace it or not. Lots of luck and hope for the best for ya....just be glad its not leaking.

its not an impact chip, i know it looks like it but this tank has been setup since feb. and it was not like that last week when i cleaned the glass.
I just noticed it today cause i was cleaning the glass and i felt a sharp edge, none of the glass is missing, it just split like that.
heres a better pic.

how long has your tank been set up? I am just setting my tank up and found a buble in the front and was wondering about the strength of the glass

I would blow a couple shotgun holes into the side of the tank and see if it withstands it.. then fix the crack.

most of the time manufacters will stand by their tanks if they leak w/in a year. But when it comes to chips like yours, most of the time they won't cover it since you didn't notice it or it wasn't there when you first got the tank.

Dont know what they will say until i call tomorrow.
Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this?
It's not an impact chip, no glass is missing or chipped, its like the edge split and it wasnt like this a week ago?

AGA has a great parent company called central aquatics. they also make oceanic, kent, esu/coralife and a few others. they stand by there products big time. if you can prove that the crack was not there when your purchaced the tank, nor cuased by you they will more then likey send you a new tank free of charge or reimburse you in some way. call them and see what happens.

what kind of stand do you have it on? they will ask you if you have it on an all glass stand, they might give you problems about that because I have a perfect and that was one of the questions they asked me but I didn't send my tank back because it was must chipped or looked like it and not leaking knock on wood.

I wish that I have experienced this! I've been dealing w/ central aquatics for kent marine for the past 3 weeks and have gotten one response for a simple issue!

Getting more intriguing every day. If the tank was purchased back in Feb, I would not be afraid to bet that they will say it had to be chipped by you, since that is like 0 months ago, and a person should have noticed that chip or crack within that period of time. That you have to admit is goiung to be hard to dispute, as that is in their favor......right or wrong, its their advantage on that point. So therefore it could really be assumed it had to be chipped / cracked after that time frame so it had tobe done by owner........no, I do not know what kind of stand you have but is it possible that thje trim around the stand itself has swollen up and put some pressure on the glass itself? Just a WAG on my part. In all reality, if it is not leaking now odds are it will not leak later, and at least its in a good area that has a lot of meat and other silicone around it and out of sight, so if they do not replace it, all is not lost. 210 is a lot to break down and redo, so I do not know myself if I would be that keen on wanting a replacement tank. Then again its glass so one really never knows what the stuff may wind up doing later on. Goodluck!

could not agree more w/ you. They gave me a little problem w/ having a home made stand. Idk about ag but perfecto puts a sticker between the glass and the frame that you would be able to see from the inside of the glass which has the manufacter date on it, if the tank is older then feb that might give you a problem too but like I said idk if ag has that.

Seanmelly.you m entino a hassle with a home brew stand. I can relate to that myself. I had a 110 gal that cracked on me and they tried to deny me a replacement. They said it was a warranty requirement that their stand be used.....wrong. They can not force a person to buy their stand when an equal and suitable stand made by another company or by a DIY is used. Its the Moss-Magnuson act that puts the binders on them in making yu use a certian product if other products will do equally. I did eventually get a new tank, and fortunately the 110 was for a FW setup at the time, and it only had water and gravel in it when it cracked, and at the time it cracked it was only about 6" deep of water, and the crack started from the top edge down......so I did not have a mess to contend with.

Yea that exactly what I told them, because I know we sell ag tanks w/ perfecto stands or visa versa! I'm like that shouldn't matter period. I told them it's their product and it is up to them whether or not if they are going to stand by their product. They got a little upset at me, but regardless a tank should be able to last the first year!! Oh yea, I think that I figured out that the what I thought was a crack is just polyurethane(sp). The guy that had the tank for 2 months before I did painted the back part of the glass black and used poly or something clear to cover it.

When you call them you will be calling Central Aquatics, and you will get a secretary who will forward you to the ag representative(I think). That's what happened when I tried calling Kent Marine. The guy from Kent Marine didn't anwswer his phone and the secretary was like "o yea, he has some car trouble and will be working out of his home for the next couple of days. You can email him and he'll get back to you on it." I got the guy's email address and emailed him, did not get a response for almost a week, and I sent the product back then he emailed me back. I reordered the same product and receieved it Wednesday and it had the same exact problem, emailed him Thursday and still have not heard from him and will call when I get back to work Tuesday, or have my boss call him. I haven't spoken to an ag representative just the Kent Marine guy so good luck

I have a very very similar crack in the corner of an empty tank I have. I am considering just putting a glass patch over it and lots of silicone and see if it holds. It did not leak when drained and the crack does not touch the wet area of the tank. Any thoughts?

I have a 65 gallon tank with a bullseye type crack where a conical shaped piece of glassbroke out on the edge/corner near the bottom. I put silicone in the hole, popped the piece back in and smoothed some silicone back over it. That was at least 3 years ago. No problems to date. (knocks on head)
