wow a lot has been added since i was here.
Imo i dont like hackers since ik how much they can do...I also HATE websites like find a person since it is REALLY easy to well like it says find a person, but the website opened up to find lost family members, friends, etc. But a lot of people that use those sites are probably stalkers and stuff. I am totally creeped out by hackers,
My science teacher shows us he can hack(which is creepy) so while we are in another room he will all of a sudden start controlling the comp, or one of my friends was having trouble finding something and all of a sudden the teacher walks into the room we were in and asks her what she was trying to do(she didnt ask for help or anything) He just came in the room knowing she was looking for something, while a lot of the kids think it is soooo cool that he can be in a totally different room and pull up this program called photobooth and take pictures of us (for no reason while we are working) is (well for me) very creepy. Whenever i am on my laptop i always flip the camera facing the wall and not me, since one of my moms friends' friend(that she isnt friends with anymore) can hack into whatever, and i mean ANYTHING you could give a name, screen name of any sort, etc etc. and find EXACTLY where that person lives, phone numbers to reach that person, their e-mail he could hack into their computer and find any documents they had typed bank info etc.
So i dont know why you would want to say you are a hacker (i know you said you are a good hacker BUT this person i didnt know very well could do ANYTHING and he was a VERY bad person, and i know that he watched people that are "good hackers" which just make his job were he doesnt really have to do anything and just sit back and relax while you do his work for him.
And sometimes all the "bad people" dont get in trouble (exspecially if their father used to be a chief of police) Which proves you can really not trust anyone. Which is sad all these bad people make the good people miserable. I just wish their were no bad people and that everyone could get along, and try not to revenge people. But the sad part is the world isnt perfect and never will be.

k....the run-on sentences killed half my brain cells and i lost site in my left eye...but...
half the stuff you said that guy could do is very basic. you could do half that stuff just by googling a website and doing reverse lookups and ip traces....
like i said people fear what they don't understand. you don't understand hacking so no matter how good a person is or how much they help you immediately stereotype them as bad people, creepy people, or just scary, which is terrible.
i'm proud to be a hacker, hell, i where a black wristband that says hacker on it (from jinx) all over the place, if someone asks what it says, i don't care what they think. if they don't understand it and fear it instead of just accepting the fact they don't know what there talking about thats fine, there problem.

Your reference to the hacking being funny, frankly, completely negated anything else you said. I didn't reference your other business at all.
I have no idea how I insulted you.
The "ageism" appears to be going both ways, BTW. But the initial discussion was basically down to the simple FACT that advice is often based on experience...and we ALL have different experiences. We should be able to understand that there are some things we CAN"T give educated advice on.

BTW, I once again find it rather funny that there are teens on this site so upset that we only give them credit for particular technological things and other areas they might have experience with.

As I mentioned, when I was growing up I don't think any adult gave a second thought to what teens knew or thought, and you know what? Tough luck for us. It was the place of kids, and I think historically was. Deal with it, no one cared what you thought and you best learn to RESPECT your place in life. You know what? We still turned out fine.

So enough already, things have changed for you for the simple fact that people ACKNOWLEDGE that there are quite a few things that teens probably know more about than many adults and you actually have forums to say it! Be happy for crying out loud!!
You can go around being completely annonymous much of the time, and share advice all you want. It is a pretty darn good time.
There is a "cry me a frickin river" point in this debate...and here it is: once, we adults were all kids too.
I think the teens in this argument may be forgetting that fact.
Kudos on side businesses...many of us had them, whether mowing lawns, babysitting or whatever. They are all valid experiences, that many of us shared

well i guess now that you think about it when you guys where kids you didnt get ANY respect so i guess we should be happy but still a little for respect in every day life for kids would be really nice!!!

I do not take advice from someone who cant use capitol I's. Seriously this is starting to drive me crazy.
How can I possibly take someone seriously if the cant do the SIMPLIST of things.
I mean I know I dont spell good, and usually use bad grammer, but how can you not capitilize a flipping I.
Its funny how you can read through these forums and people who admit to being younger age will type a whole paragraph with all lowercase I's....you teens are trying to stick up for kids your own age and you cant even right a proper sentance with, capitilization and punctuation.
Im not trying to change the subject back to grammer. But this thread has turned into a debate, and how can you expect to be taken seriously if you cant do something that simple.
I am one to point fingers, I see zekes post and see all lower case I's, immediatly I skim through his post and take the other persons side.

Yes i know you were all kids back in the OLD days
lol jk!
But... I seriously think peoples lives were different back then. I cant really say had more fun. Because while you guys had to do all this hard work and stuff after you were done you could do pretty much anything (depending how old you were and what your parents were like) Whenever i hear my parents and their friends talking about fun times they had, they would be doing REALLY dangerous or stupid stuff, or just getting into a lil trouble from cops. But it sounds like they didnt get into TERRIBLE trouble.
But you could just say that now a days most kids are lazy, and dont want to work for anything. Plus we have all this new technology that you guys didnt have back then. and yada yada. hmm i should start a thread on What age group had more fun. But i dont know i dont think there will be very many posters lol i think im the only one that thinks about this stuff
oh well, its actually very fun to think about, and you get in lil arguments back and forth on both sides of the story.
-edit-Sorry for writing that!!! I tend to go on and on about nothing... hehe

well thats fine, whatever you guys think. and ohpiura i wasn't referring to you, you never said anything bout the business.
i'm not trying to be immature, but it looks like everyone thinks so.
it's not a side business. talked to my dad which owns a large local business and he said people think you gotta have a liscence but you really don't, the only thing is a tax certificate but most people don't worry about it.
but since everyone things i'm being immature and crap i'll just say one thing and stop with this stupid thread.
Kids these days know more then adults give us credit for, and ageism gets really old really fast.

Fishy I think your post was right on and I think it's a shame how tight kids today are governed by everyone--it doesn't seem like you can get away with much. The stuff we did wasn't dangerous it's the things young people want to do and should be allowed some leeway.
I do agree that kids today can be very lazy, with searches like Google you are never more then 5 seconds from an answer when we had to really dig to find the same info.
