You can always use Biro Spira in case of emergencies. I may try it nex time I start a new tank. I tried the freshwater version and it worked awesome.

Slack, I hate to fuel your fire, but I have read a number of your posts without responding, and while you call yourself a 1%er, I believe recent scientific studies have shown that 7.59% of the population is mentally challenged. Sorry to bust your bubble

So, JP any pics yet??? atleast of your empty tank and stand?
Yes I would like to see some pics too if you have some. I love puffers, lions & eels also. I am not sure of the order you should add them. IMO lion first, then a puffer & eel. I would add the lion first b/c a puffer might nip at the lion, but I have never had that problem, but that doesnt mean it wont happen. I'm sure someone with more knowledge on this will have advice. Keep us updated and good luck to you.

no pics yet, will post some later tonight hopefully. I picked up a nice lloking piece of live rock, but found out has some hair alagae on it
so its outside in the sun getting "cooked" off

My test kit came in today, and test are as follows:
ph:8.3
Amonia:0
Nitrite:0
Nitrate:25-30
Am really happy with the results with the short cycling time thus far, my lfs said it would be ok to add a fish in a week, in the meantime added a few damsels.
So, the two going in will be porc. puffer and Pakistan butterfly. I did see 2 eels I fell in love with the brazillian dragon eel and leopard eel, cant decide what to get as this will be the third addition to the tank in about 2-3 weeks, unlees the radiata lion comes in first.

Okay I'm chiming in here because I posted a similar thread about what to stock my new aggressive tank with and got the advice to cross the Lionfish off my list if I was going to get a Puffer or Trigger because they would nip him to death. Makes sense on one hand but on the other had aren't the Lionfish venomous? Just trying to sort out my own list while my tank "cycles" haha... what a novel idea for some... pfff...

I have had mixed advice on the puffer/lion mix. I am going to go ahead and put them together, and watch closely, if it doesnt work then I will just take my lion back to my lfs, and do a swap. I have also been doing a lot of research while my tank was cycling and will continue to do so. I have found there is A LOT of conflicting advice, and each tank/fish is different within reason. What works for one person may not work for another.

This is always true... and it sounds like you have an awesome LFS that won't steer you wrong... but ultimately science tells the truth and I am thinking that a since the Lionfishes fins are indeed venomous it wouldn't be great meal for the Puffer and he would likely stay away... do let me know how it works out as you are a bit ahead of me... my tank is actually just recovering from an unfortunate crash after we moved so it may just be what they call a mini cycle. We'll see.

I am sure they wouldnt be a great meal for puffers! lol. I have had numerous puffers in my fresh and brackish aquariums before, and EVERY one of them has a different personality or quirk. Some are just meaner than others. I had one theat attacked EVERYTHING in my tank including suction cups and fake plants...This is what makes puffers interesting and fun IMO.
I will certainly post my observations in the next few weeks.

Yeah I had a green spotted brack puffer at one time also... just loved him! That's why I am going aggressive now... I also have a Nano cube for my coral fetish.
