Ahhhhh I Cant Take It!!!

OK, My new MH lights went on last night...I have them set on timers to come on at 3 different times, I have eggcrate on the 2 outer sections of tank top, glass in center, and a couple of layers of screen...Right now they will run about 5 hours...total
This is what is getting me...I just talked to the people where I purchased the light, and I asked AGAIN to verify the time to leave MH lights on....The "EXPERT" told me I have to leave them on for 10 hours!!!! Not the T5's, they specifically said to have corals or an anemone they MH MUST BE ON 10 hours.....Then you wonder why I am so confused...
SOOOO Here I go again....what is the max time you leave your MH lights on for??? My tank is 225g 30" deep.

I have a 65gal. with 175 watt mh x 2 I run them from 3 p.m. til 10 p.m. = 7 hrs.

I run my actinics for 10 hours and my Mh's for 9 hours.

actinics 12 hrs - MH 9 hrs.
dont trust the LFS.

I don't but my tank is open top, well pond screen top.

MH = 5 hours, actinic = 15 hours.

MH for 7 Actinics for 8.5. 2-175 watt se mhs and 320 vhos and yes I run a chiller.

my lights go on at 230 and out at ten.

Well I had put egg crate over each end of tank, and still had glass covering the center. I had screen over it to shade some of the light during the light acclimation...and the glass broke!!! I don't know if it was cause the screen was melting onto it or what happened...soooo tomorrow I will be buying another piece of the eggcrate...I decided not to take a chance and put one of the other glass lids on. Iwas very lucky it broke in 2 pieces, and none went into the tank.
