Well....Put phosphate test kit on your shopping list...LOL
On my 29G I have the Bakpak2....works good for me, and my tank is a fish/reef...and it is not very expensive
I have had some bubble issues...BUT...it seems I am the only one....LOL....I know a few people who have this same skimmer with no bubbles

A phosphate kit is more important than a skimmer right now. A skimmer is not really going to help the algae that much. You need to know your phosphate level and then find the source of the phosphate in the tank (because if you have hair algae in your tank, you have phosphates). Solve that issue, then get a skimmer... You might need a PhosBan reactor first..

Heck for a 30G I would just do bigger w/c's and add some Phospure media in your filter
Not disagreeing with your Btld......It's just a lot easier to DILUTE a 30G than a 225G LOL

Absolutely true. I'm just throwing the idea of the Phosban reactor out there as a possibility depending on how bad the phosphates are.

do a water change a scrub the rocks with hot water wait do u have live coral if u do do not scrub
Scrubbing rocks does absolutely nothing for phosphates. If there is a phosphate issue you could scrub the rocks all the time, the algae will return.
NEVER EVER scrub rocks with hot water! You'll kill the live rock.

I can't tell for sure but it looks like you have some bubble algae in there also, an Emerald Crab will eat that also.
