Your live rock appears less than an inch from your glass? That close proximity will reduce the amount of flow that can circulate in that area. Is that a spray bar in the second pic?

I have the same type of tank, and it is very difficult to make the flow go all over...I agree you need another powerhead.
Also...how long do you keep your lights on?
What do you feed, and how much?
What type of water do you use (ro or tap)?

its not algae its some kind of coloration organics produce (cant remember what its called). The yellow tint is one of the primary reasons carbon is used for.

it is a spray bar and i use tap water. the food i feed is oyster eggs, microvert, zooplex, live marine phytoplankton and frozen cyclop eeze. i feed two of the above every other day. the lights are on from 3:00 to 10:00. how many more power heads should i have and were should they be?

I'd strongly advice gettign an RO/DI or at least a RO system for water purifying.
I'd try and get 2 more powerheads in there if you are going with the same ones.

Look up Koralias...they are really good powerheads.
Also...I agree with needing an ro/di....tap water could be causing issues too.
What livestock do you have?

Yellow water is a build up of organic matter. You need to look at your chemical, mechanical filtration, wate change schedule, feeding, and bioload. This is a basic husbandry issue symtom and you need to find and fix the problem.
Are you using carbon? The water will be clean and clear if you do and as the carbon is saturated it will not keep the water clear. Carbon needs to be changed regularly to be effecitve.
Do you have any mechanical filtration? If so you may need to do more changingcleaning of the flosspads, bio media etc.
Are you feeding more than can be eaten by the fish in about 3 minutes? If so cut down on feeding. Feed every other day.

+1
also have you considered a phos/carbon reactor?
Relatively cheap. About $60 from bulk reef supply. simple to hook up. a cheap $20 power head will do fine. Media can last about 6-8mo for $30 bag on a tank your size. You should be able ot maintain crystal clear water once yo install one.
And look into a Turf Scrubber. The algea will grow in the easiest place possible. So you put a turf scrubber in...it will grow there, not your glass.
