My purple urchin doesnt eat the bad algea. It has grown tremendously since I got the rock so I know its healthy. I have the same algea issue and honestly, Since the pepps didnt eat the aiptasia i wasnt going to count on anyhting eating this algea. So i started the water change, got the tank water level low, ans started pullin out clumps of this stuff. I know I didnt get it all, but I sure did get most of it. With time, this stuff will go away.
Get the fish you want to have based on what you want not what you want them to eat. Remember, they may eat it in the wild, but it doesnt mean that they will eat it in your tank.
BTW, GL on saturday afternoon, your down to a 1 game season for all the marbles.

Mine is having an identity crisis, it thinks it's a decorator crab.
I feel so bad for my snails and hermits. Being held hostage all the time can't be cool.
LOL, my purple urchin is also experiencing the same identity crisis. I got so mad at him, he got banished to the refugium.
Sparty,
my suggestion would be to hold off on a urchin and the sea hare. Nothing against you personally, but I don't think someone new to the hobby should own a sea hare.
Pick up two turbo snails and two emerald crabs (you're going to want them anyways), your two clowns and possibly a lawnmower blenny (or other algae eating blenny). No, the blenny will not be able to handle all the algae, nor will 2 turbo snails, but with their help, you should be okay.
I'd kick up your water changes for the next 2 weeks, that should help a lot as well.

Well! It's been settled! I just purchased two clowns, a blenny, two turbo snails, and two emerald crabs. I'm acclimating everything right now and will have everything in my tank within the next two hours or so! I must say though... I'm VERY excited and I hope they all enjoy their new home!

Algea Blenny... aka Lawnmower Blenny. I bought an Orange Oriceller (I don't remember the spelling and I know I'm SO FAR off because I can't even find it on Google, so any help of the proper spelling would be helpful), and a Black one... the black is the female since it's about 3x the size of the orange... and I'm loving watching them swim around in the acclimation bucket :)... Should 2 hours be good enough for the three fish? On SWF.com it says 3+ hours.

Ok, I'll do that then. I didn't know the LFS guy told me an hour would be fine. He also said I can do the bag method though where I can just dump it in and let it sit that way. Needless to say, I didn't and am doing it the drip method way. So, I was looking at my fish and noticed the black clown has a bit of orange on its mouth. My gf was looking at her and said, she has orange on her face becasue she kisses Nemo (the orange one) so much! Ah, I love my GF and I love my fish... best of both worlds!

Haha, it's funny you say that. She's been nipping at him occasionally and he's been nipping at her every once and a while. They both look very happy though. He keeps hanging out under her fin and just playing around with her. The Blenny just keeps hanging out in the corner and seems to be thinking wth... get a room! :)

20 minutes to go! By the way, the Emerald Crabs are in the tank and seem to be double "clawing" all the food in there. They're in Algae heaven! The turbo snails were also put in there approx 40 minutes ago and it actually worries me that there ISN'T ENOUGH food in there! They just cleaned house and the whole back wall that had a TON of algae hair looks like it never had any algae on it before! These guys straight up clear this tank! Everything is looking like it's in good shape, I've opened up the drips to about 3 drips per second since it's about 2 hours into the acclimation and it looks like everything is going well. Fish seem happy and I'm looking forward to setting them in!

Long aclimations arent really needed if your not going for a big swing in salanity.
Were your inverts kept in the same system as your fish?
My LFS has two seperate systems. One for inverts and corals. The other for fish.
His fish are kept at .020
His corals and inverts are done to .026
What is the temp of your water that your doing the acclimation drip in?
Remember if you got it on a 3hour drip its going to be getting cold. That does more harm than good. Good idea to keep a heater in it if your going to be doing long periods of aclimation.

Ah shoot! I didn't even think of that until I read that... which was already too late. I didn't add a heater so yes the water was much cooler than the DT's water. However, the fish have been added and they seem to be learning their new home. The blenny is VERY active moving around from one end of the tank to the other quickly... the clownfish are slowly getting used to the tank. They've been sitting at one end of the tank with very little asperation to move anywhere else. Just recently though they've been looking at both ends of the tank. The two clowns seem almost inseperable... I've seen them apart so far one time and it was for about five seconds and by then the orange male found his way back to the female which wasn't ready at the time to venture to the otherside of the tank. I did a small feeding for the three fish... about half a block of frozen mysis shrimp. The more I go on with this post the more I find the two seperating... I think at first they were both a little unsure and didn't know what the whole concept of the new tank was all about. They seem like they're doing much better as time has gone on. It's been about 30 minutes so yeah, they seem to be doing better. I'll post pictures tomorrow when the lights come back on.

Half a block of mysis? That seems like way too much food for 3 fish. Dont you have pepps in there as well? Did the pepps come out and clean up the extra for you? Did you have the pumps off when you fed? And yea, pics would be great.
