Am I LOW or MEDIUM light level?

75 Gal. Long Hex 48"x18"x22" High with 260 watts PC directly on top of tank = 3.46watts per gal.
Am I Low light?
Am I Medium Light?
I know it makes a difference on what I'll want to select for corals.

I would consider that on the low end for a Reef tank.

I would consider it low as well, particularly for corals toward the bottom half of the tank as far as your lighting penitration. I would stick lower light corals toward the bottom.

That would be low IMO. You can keep some medium lighting stuff closer towards the top though.

Watts per gal is a poor measure in most situstions. If you were to go with 5 watts per gal of PC lighting then I'd say you were around medium...possibly still a bit low for some types of corals. But overall with 375 watts of PC lighting (approximately 6x65 lamps) you could develop a decent selection of corals. But you could also go with 6x110 VHO's and have more options or even consider a combination of MH and either PC or VHO to futher increase your options. It all comes down to the type of coral you'd like to keep and the lighting requirements for that selection of coral.:thinking:
