An alternative for Obamacare?

Slick Rick has slashed the Medicaid budget in half, how is the costs going to go up? You do realize that one of the largest groups that utilize Medicaid are those aging Baby Boomers that have no other means to pay their nursing home bills and other treatments that program supplies. I suppose the alternative is Euthanasia, but that may be a hard pill to swallow.
Can i get a link to this reduction in medicaid funding funding texas has done?

There is no reduction. Texas, is actually trying to negotiate. In fact, Texas, is willing to expand those programs per the law as long as Texas is allowed to develop specific programs that would help keep us from going bankrupt. Essentially, republicans are pushing for Obama to approve the Keystone pipeline but he won't budge.
Even without it, "Slick Rick" still requested 100 million to expand medicaid to elderly and disabled under the ACA. We're still at a stale mate.

Medicaid
Legislators left a nearly $5 billion unpaid tab for Medicaid, which they planned to cover in 2013 with any unexpected revenue or the $7 billion rainy day fund.[sup][19] The funding ignores the likely growth of enrollment in Medicaid.[sup][2]
State Health and Human Services Commissioner Tom Suehs predicted on Feb. 1, 2012, that the state faces a shortfall of $15-17 billion due to Medicaid.[sup][23][/sup]
On May 7, 2012, the state's Medicaid chief said the program will likely only achieve 88 percent of the savings lawmakers hoped for when they passed he budget. Texas Department of Health and Human Services officials expect that lawmakers will need to come up with more than $10 billion to cover the deficit as of May 2012 and increases in the next budget

Medicaid

Texas' biennial Medicaid budget is $45 billion. The federal government covers 60% of the state's share and the remaining amount takes up 20% of the state budget.[60]
http://ballotpedia.org/Texas_state_budget#cite_note-nyt-60[/sup]
The Senate and House passed similar Medicaid bills in the special session that combined bills that did not pass in the regular session. The Senate bill would expand the privatization of health care services, discourage the use of emergency rooms for non-urgent care and encourage state agencies and private health care providers to focus on improving patient outcomes as well as permit hospitals and doctors work together to control costs.[61]
http://ballotpedia.org/Texas_state_budget#cite_note-revamping-61[/sup] The House passed its version of the bill with a vote of 91-47 on June 9, 2011, and the bill will now go back to the Senate for consideration of the small changes the House made. It would permit the formation of health care cooperatives and establish the Texas Institute of Healthcare Quality and Efficiency, which would seek to identify and encourage innovative health care programs that save money. The state would also create the Medicaid and CHIP Quality-Based Payment Advisory Committee to explore ways to pay doctors based on the patient's outcome rather than per procedure.tyle="color:rgb(0, 102, 204)">[62] The plan requires federal approval. The state's FY2012 budget relies on the cost saving of up to $700 million predicated on that approval.[sup][61]
Republicans had suggested that the state should opt out of the federal Medicaid program and said that they are studying the cost savings that would result from the opt out.[sup][60][/sup][63]
http://ballotpedia.org/Texas_state_budget#cite_note-pitts-63[/sup] Options before the legislature include remaking Medicaid with only state financing to give states flexibility regarding benefits and cost design, or obtaining federal waivers to allow the state to change portions of its Medicaid program

Now all of a sudden he's reversing course? Maybe due to pressure of the constituents he's going to kill if he doesn't provide them the relief?

The Texas budget would be hemorrhaging to its death if it wasn't for Ricky's salvation of the fracking going on in South of San Antonio. He's slashed the education budget, slashed Medicaid, but continues to pander to his big business cronies who funnel money to his pointless campaign fund.

That still doesnt state where there was a 50% medicaid budget slashing. You said the medicaid budget was slashed by 50%. I dont even see a budget cut for medicaid.

Excuse me? Maybe not where you live, but in Texas, Medicaid is the main source of income for elderly individuals whose only source of income is whatever they receive from Social Security, and that doesn't cover their expenses when it comes to paying their nursing home bills, or other medical-related bills not covered under Medicare.

Baby boomers have not hit the age threshold yet.
