I got a bubble tip yesterday and after my clown threw it across the tank, it crawled under a ledge of a rock. It is almost buried behind a shroom rock and under a large piece o LR. Should I move it out? Dosen't it want light? What should I do?

You can move it to the front if you want to, BUT ultimately it will definately move to wherever it wants to be. And then settle there.

I'm not even sure if it moved there or if my crazy clown shoved it in there. If they die does it give off any kind of poison or anything? This is my first one.

These things can be pretty tough and will do anything they can do to survive, BUT if it does shrivel up and starts to expell anything or fall apart, REMOVE IMEDIATELY with a net, FLUSH, then check you levels, you might want to run some CARBON and do a water change, for he will start to release some deadly toxins into the water!

OK, so heres the deal. I moved the shroom rock out of the way to see where this thing was. He wedged himself into this hole of a rock and is hardly visable. If I didn't move the shroom rock he would have been in pretty much darkness. Was it hiding or is it where it would have want to be without any light? I'm a little confused. Sorry
Do these thing move around frequently? I can't believe it got into this small hole.

I read that you shouldn't flush fish (I would guess invert apply) as they could (not certain) contaminate water supply. Just something I read, so we don't flush, but bag up completely, like a Ziploc baggy, then toss. We Ziploc them, cuz when anemones die, they STINK! Yuck. But I do not know for certain if they contaminate water system.
Good luck. We used to have a lot of problems with BTA's until we tried a Sabae. Success since.

What kind of light do you have by the way, If it is bothering you so much take him out, put him near the top or in high light and then see what he does. I know it can be frustrating and you shouldnt muck with him at all unless its dead or for feeding. Keep us updated.

I can agree with you, But then what, put this decomposing thing into a non-biodegradable bag that gets thrown into a land fill? Dont forget People put drain cleaner into all kinds if pipes, where does that go? same place as the "natural god made anemone"?

True....I guess there's really no right or wrong way. Just don't sniff a dead anemone. Icky.
Oh, but I thought of something.... we drink the water.

Move the schroom rock out of the way and let him be. He will find a sweet spot on his own.

Would an anemone put itself in a place where in turn it is not healthy for itself? Im concerned that where it is it does not get enough light. I have PC's so Im figuring it needs to be up high and out of the hole it has put itself into.

Normally it will go where it feels most comfortable. It will stretch for light when it needs to. Patience, it will go where it needs to be.

When we first bought BTA's, we were told the little critters are brainless, literally. I think sometimes they are hard to figure out. Just keep a close eye on it. If it looks mushy, not like normal, and expells icky looking stuff (My husband says it looks like styrofoam), it's dying. Until then, just watch it.

hmm. I think if it dosen't move by tomorrow I will see what I can do to get it out of this hole. I heard ice or powerheads? Any other ways?

Anemone are much more capable of moving around and even against the current than people think.
Its nothing for an anemone to hide for up to weeks at a time. Just if possible try to make sure its not in a total dead spot for current. They will poke in and out of a rock at will.
Make sure if possible the current isnt stagnant but dont make it too cozy in the rockwork otherwise you will never see it. Its a long term game of slow changes and seeing how it responds and if or how it moves.
My carpet can hang completly upsidown under the rockwork for weeks at a time with little or no light and then move back to the flat sandbed in matter of minutes.
Def strange creatures. Just keep an eye on it and try to give it: some flow, some food, some light, and some peace and it will find its mojo in your tank.

Anemones have a "mind" of their own and will do what they need to survive. I too, had one, near death, that crawled under a dark ledge for 2 weeks before coming out to the light.
They will also "shrivel" up in varying intensities every day or two, depending on how much its eating. When they do this, they are expelling waste. This can take up to several hours.
