Anemone rejecting clown?

The BTA I've had for almost 3 years now is moving around , has stopped eating, and is looking really awful since I added a new clown. My local LFS owner told the anemone has rejected the clown and that the anemone would likely die based on the description I gave her. At first I thought it was splitting, but its been 2 weeks and its declining quickly.
I've heard of clowns not accepting anemones, but never the other way around. Anyone heard of this before?

Doesn't sound likely to me.
What have you been feeding the Anemone lately?

I didn't think that sounded likely either. I've been feeding it a small piece of raw shrimp at least once a week since I got him, and occasionally I target feed some frozen (thawed first) brine shrimp.

Nothing unordinary outside of the introduction of the clown has happened in my tank.

The Anemone might be slowly starving. Has it been able to capture a lot of leftover food from fish feedings? I would think after 3 years it would be large enough to require 4 or 5 whole Lancefish or Large Krill 2 or 3 times a week.
