My new anemone won't eat any silversides. Granted he has only been in there for about 4 hours. hahaha. do they need time to adjust just like fish?

i have pc bulbs. 265 watts over 55 gallon tank. I know this is a little low but my tank has been set up for 18 months and the water is prsitine. I think it is a LTA. Here is a picture of it. You think the lighting is ok?

Pink with white tips? How much did you pay for it? Condys have that kinda color sometimes.

One might think with that description that you could wind up with one of the Heteractis anemones, but the tenticals are wrong for that, there would be many more tentacles in mass. They can be very colorful when healthy but it would certainly out grow that tank and would have to have MH lighting as well.
It doesn't look like a condy.
Instead I see that it is a tanish color with more cream like tips. There are enough tentacles that I could agree that it looks more like one of the common LTA type. If it is then it will almost certainly move itself to the bottom of the tank and into the sand substrate. Only thing there is that Macrodactyla doreensis usually has even colored tentacles when healthy, but color morphs can happen. I would also like to see this anemone under stronger lighting than what you have.
Give it the proper adjustment period of two weeks and keep us informed of what it does. If and when it does open up fully then give us another pic, one head on of the oral disk would be nice and one of the column if it is presented.

As soon as the lights came on this morning the anemone moved into the rocks. He seems that he went to a darker area in the back of my tank. Is this normal?

he opened up the wrong way so he cant be seen. May I add that in the part of the tank he is in there is very minimal light. will he turn back the other way so I can see him? hahaha

me being impatient I moved a few rocks and the anemone. I set it up so he can't fully open towards the back of my tank. That will teach him. I will post another pic of him in a few. I also move him closer up in the tank.

Very normal. As to current lighting. It may depend on where you purchased him and from what type of lighting it was used to. If the lighting was poor then perhaps your lighting will be affecting it in some ways. Lighting is one of the acclimation points that it will have to get used to in your tank, as well as acclimating to the water.

SilverSide - is a small fish used to feed other fish or inverts like anemones, many LFS carry them. Very nutritious
