use a toothpick and carefully pry him off like romoving a sticker off a window. if you would like to keep him after you remove him place him on a rock on the bottom and make sure he is surrounded by sand. anonome jail. works great and you dont have to piss off the clown.

My plan right now is to drain 35 gallons and then to slowly pry him off the rocks and wall. I will use nets to corall him and some plastic gloves to protect myself from the stinging. I don't want to kill him, especially since I read stories of them releasing toxins when they die. Is that true???

Try aiming a PH at it and see if it will start to move on its own, then it should be easier to get it off the rocks.

Yup. THat's all one anemone... I do have the power head blowing right on it, but the anemone is too strong. This is gonna be tough, but come Tuesday, I'm ripping it out before it kills all of my zoos....

well you dont have to wear gloves cuz you wont feel the sting and if you have like a bag from bbuyin fish just use that to pull it off. i wouldnt suggest using a tooth pick cuz from the force you have to use that will puncture hisfoot. if you put a bag over your hang jsut stick it under it thats what i do when i am bagging anenomes for customers just cuz if you use your bare finger your nail can rip the foot hope this helps a little

I think i read somewhere once about using an icecube. I've never tried it though.
Only works if it is just on the glass. Your best bet is to just take your time and very carefully pry him off. Do NOT use a toothpick, that is just asking to stab the foot. If the foot tears he has little to no chance for survival, so just be careful.

The anemone can still crawn over the sand or it will just completely let go and float around the tank until it lands somewhere to put its foot.

IMO, the best way is to make it uncomfortable--that is usually pointing a PH at it. In your case it seems it likes the PH, so the opposite may work. Turn off its flow and give it a few days, it should let lose. Hopefully any corals will recover from the sting. Another way to consider is to remove the rock(s) its attached to into a bucket of SW and by the time you get to the LFS it most likely would of let go...but I seen you said its attached to the glass also. If so, work on that part (glass) first and then remove the rock(s). HTH

When I move the PH, it spreads and starts to kill more corals... What I'm gonna do is just try to rip it out of the tank as gently as possible. If I need to drain some water, I will. The problem is that it is attached to my rocks and the wall. I just hope that my entire rock pile does not collapse!!!
Wish me luck!

I tried to rip it out last night, but the base is under my rock, and it is impossible to reach it. It did not sting me, and the clowns did not go nuts. Any ideas about how I can get the anemone to let go of the rocks if I can't reach the base?
I am thinking about piling rocks on top of it so it doesn't get any light and has to move...
Come on guys, any ideas???

I thought of that, but that would be almost half the water. But then the anemone's "foot" would still be totally behind my entire rock structure...
What a pain...

True but the majority of it would be out of the water and I would be willing to bet that it will detatch to look for the water.

what if you moved your light source for a couple of days to a spot more accessable to reach him? mine seem to always move to the light. seriously though, use the toothpic when he is accessable. i accedentally ripped a chunck of foot off of mine just pulling him off and he was fine. the pic is much more forgiving.

ever thought of MOVING ur zoo's? anemone is better than little polyps imo! and dont use the toothpick.. also the rock that he is connected to is it small? maybe u can take the rock and him and put him on the other side of the tank
