That's what I meant--sorry. So can you recommend a book or website where I can find out more on anenomes?

Yes they need light to keep the host algae growing.

A host situation with clown fish is just like us making friends. Not everyone gets along. I had my pair of clowns for over a year before they chose a host....a daisy flower pot....which isn't even on the list of prefered hosts.
As for information...just gotta keep reading, searching, and asking. Gotta start somewhere

A lot of info/learning has come from the awesome people on this forum. Many people, me included, keep journals/info regarding their tanks and info. That way you build up your own book of info and experiences that you can pass on. So keep asking and searching.
look forward to more pics

oh- as for books, one of my favorites is called: Marine Invertebrates, by Ronald L. Shimek, Ph.D.
Also: Corals by John Tullock, CORALS by James Fatherree

Just an update on my anenome. It is more brownish than ever. It does still have a tint of purple to it when it is deflated. When it is out, the trunk is so long and it extends like a flower. Just beautiful!

YES! That was my first step towards reef! I've had FOLR for 2 years now. That's why I was a little nervous. Must say after 2 years in the hobby----still under educated! lol :hilarious
