I think it is the worst coral one can add to a tank! I made that mistake over a year ago and am still paying for it. I have to pick it out with tweezers at least every month. If you can keep it isolated it is a great beginner coral. JMO which doesnt count for much!!!

It is an easy coral, but learn how to frag quickly (it's really easy to frag).

I have this coral in a few places in my tank, and when it starts to grow too much for me, I just cut it back. It doesn't take much effort to keep it under control IMO.

I've also heard that these guys can help with nitrates! Another thing I noticed with these guys is that, well at least in my tank, they only seem to like to grow up. They'll climb up the side of a rock, but when they reach the top they just get denser, not really spreading out so much.

I saw this coral at my lfs but didnt know what it was, now that i know im not sure if i want it, does it grow fast on sand, i was thinking if i got some i could put a smaller rock in the sand and let the coral grow on that. and it hopefully wont grow as fast on the sand and i can keep up with it.

Agree with Bang here. People will put the rock frag that is attached to away from the main rockwork in the sand so that it does not spread out of control.
