Any cigar experts here?

A friend of mine gave me a cuban cigar a while back (I think it said Cahiba on the band) and I must say that I rather enjoyed smoking it. I had always smoked the occassional trash cigar that you taste for 3 days afterward so I have never given it much thought.
I like to sit out back by the pool and enjoy an occassional Crown and coke and was wondering what would be good cigar to buy for someone new to cigars. I don't smoke cigarettes at all and this would be only about once a week.
Also, any good sources for picking up quality cigars at good prices?
Thanks for any education you pass on.

I dont beleive that a cohiba is a cuban....I have had quite a few cohibas all bought here in the states...The best cigars you will be able to buy are going to be at your local tobacconist.
My favorite cigars for occasional smoking are any of the partagas variety....im mostly a Maduro smoker though.
wow i havent had a stogie in along time. I might need to get me a nice dark smoke for this weekend.

Tangman - I too just enjoyed a nice cuban ...... broncofish is really into smokes so hopefully he will see this .... the hobby can get pretty darned expensive - but if you only smoke once in a blue moon it is worth it to buy a really nice cigar!!

yes that is a cuban cigar..but cohiba's. R&J's monte cristo all of them have sister farms else where that make cigars, and seel them under the same name, but the will say, dominican etc....A lot of people like them because they are smooth, but IMO the best Cubans have a little bite, like the Cohiba's.
Orion...never heard of a macando...I have smoked Macanudo's and those are pretty good.
Tangman...I like rigolletta's as an everyday cigar. At about 2.35 a pop from a local store they are not to pricey, smooth but still have enough kick to be enjoyable. Punch's are good but way over priced. Dona Ines are off the hook, but harder to find. Those are my golfing cigars. As as far as a good website, check these guys out, great prices, awesome customer service.

and ashton(a lil bit more costly but worth every penny, IMO)
i actually prefer these 2 to most cubans i have smoked, but remember, i am a broke working fool so i have nto had a chance to smoke a lot of cuban's esp the better brands

how old are you? i mean your lungs will be obliterated. Dont inhale your cigar....if you inhaled one of the ones i smoke i guarantee you wont ever want one again...especially after you throw up.
Although some people inhale small amounts of their puff...

I was hoping my friend would bring back some cubana's when they went down to mexico but alass no go. But I think they managed to get a bottle of tortuga rum. We'll see it makes it all the way back.

Quite a few cigar nuts here! Thanks for the link Broncofish. What would you suggest ordering. It's kind of mind numbing to look at all the offers. I'm not worried about price, but bang for buck is always a good thing. I would probably indulge in a cigar while sitting out back by the pool drinking a few Crowns, and definitely playing golf.
What really sucks is I was working in the Dominican Republic a few years ago and never thought about bringing any back.
What about these guys for Cubans:

As far as those cubans....ahhh I don't know. I have a source and I get them cheap, about 1/3 of that places cost. Not to mention that if they get confiscated by customs, you still pay. My favorite cigar is not even a cuban, so it's hard for me to see spending that much. I really like these as well, they are my favorite, but a bit thick for most peoples tastes. Also anything by drew estates is pretty good.
