That doesn't look like Aiptasia to me. Cool looking critter though.
Fogger's new picture confirms that it's Aiptasia.

cool i took your idea and searched it out it comes back to a calliactis polypus. Not listed as a pest anemone. Final something going my way with a pos ID

They said def aptaisia, but either way I think its pretty cool

In my experience this species of Aiptasia, Aiptasia pulchella, does not reproduce nearly as fast as Aiptasia pallida. It does grow to be quite a bit larger though and really packs a whollup as far as the sting.

Yes, but I have yet to find a species name for them. It's a small, very prolific, purple Aiptasia.

So you see they are related right down to the family, but change when you get to genus. All that jargan aside, I agree with Bang Guy. And scince your talking florida I chose one of the most common aiptasia around Florida the aiptasia pallida.
