Any idea what this is?

Also, is this even alive any longer, or probably dead? I'm referring to the thing right in the center of the picture. It looks like a paly as someone mentioned before or some type of mushroom. I'll get a picture from the top later tonight. But if you can identify based off of this let me know.

looks like a pest anemone to me
Touch it and see if it retracts all the way....A paly won't
Arrrg, I've been trying everything I can to keep that sucker alive. Out the tank it goes! As long as it retracts. However, I am pretty sure it's dead because it hasn't grown or anything since I've had the tank... it used to be tucked away where the light didn't even reach it, so I would think it's dead... I'll check it out tonight.

It doesn't look dead in the picture......if it is the PEST....you need to kill it....do not try to remove it, it will release spores and then you will get more

How would I go about killing it if it is the bad guy? I'm assuming Joe's Juice wouldn't phase it huh?

Joe's Juice would kill it...that is the only thing that has worked for me until I recently bought the pickling lime stuff......

Just to be clean (Because I know the picture isn't great quality) the head is attached to a base that is white. That's why I was under the impression it was a paly.

ya no lie it looks like a pest anenome. Did u touch it yet? If it retracts into the rock its the pest. If it just bunches up like a zoo or paly than its a paly....

Maybe another picture...... or you could circle it on this current picture? Cause I am seeing the same thing everyone else is, aiptasia.

Sorry, I see what you're saying. You think the thing in the center is an aiptasia. I thought you were saying the legs on the rocks all around were aiptasia. My bad.

Sorry I didn't bring my binoculars to the thread but IMO it is a brown glass anemone (aiptasia). I'm going to send you a new camera for christmas, Sparty. Right after I get one for myself.
Does it look like this?

Haha. I'll hold you to that Corey! Yes, I would say that looks similar. I just bought a new car last night so I didn't have time t look at my tank last night as I was too busy playing with all the bells and whistles. I'll look at it today and get a better look. Thanks everyone!

Flower, the thing you circled in white is actually brittle star fish. They all camp out in my rock and leave their legs hanging out to catch food as it passes by. Which is why I haven't been putting any type of media filters in because the snow floating around allows them to feed. I think many people might confuse it with Aiptasia though so it's all good :)
What I circled in red here is the problem guy. The arrow is the head, the lines are referencing the stalk.
