I need to buy some frozen food for fish and coral, can someone please recommend. I have been feeding them a lot of pellet food.

thank you.
Is this all you give them? I think is low in protein, but you get great growth on all fishes?

I mix it up. I use Hikari's Bio-Pure Mega Marine Angel Formula (all my fish eat it, not just the angel) and the Bio-Pure Spirulina Brine Shrimp as well as frozen Mysis that I add vitamins too. I usually add vitamins to the Mysis and Brine.
I also try to get fresh baby brine once a month, my clowns really like them for some reason and I just like watching them try and chase them all.
We also use Reef-Nutrition Arcti-Pods. (which isn't frozen, but fresh and must stay in the fridge)
I just personally don't like using the same thing every single day because I wouldn't want to eat the same thing all the time. When I add the less nutritious stuff, I add vitamins.
All are fed to fish, but the Baby Brine, and frozen Mysis are also fed to the coral. We also feed Cyclop-eeze to the coral from time to time.

Funny I bought live brine shrimp for the first time yesterday and all of them goes nuts for it. It is kind of expensive for just a small portion.
I feed them Formula One flake and pellets, sea weed and Mysis. I use Cyclop-eeze for the corals.
Now I'm looking for new frozen food and so far most of them has only 10% protein. Any frozen food out there has more than 10% protein?
If I mix my own food, such as clams, shrimp, squid etc, will I get more than 10% protein?

You're always better off mixing your own, it just gets to be too much of a PITA after a while. We just upgraded to a 155 and we've been spending so much time on aquascaping that I just don't have the energy to make my own anymore, that's why we add vitamins to the food now. I really don't notice a difference in their health from making it to buying pre-made and adding vitamins. The one big plus is buying pre-made right now is actually cheaper.
I also feed sea weed for my tang. My angel won't go near the stuff, she prefers the taste of human flesh and $50 Anthias!

I'm sure you can. Some of the big onlines are starting to carry it. Basically Rods is the same thing people make at home but with a lot more in it. It already has the vitamins, Garlic, ETC. Its all I feed because everything that people have mentioned feeding is already in it. FYI dont rinse it. Its already been rinsed plus you will rice out a lot of the coral food in it. He also makes three different formulas, Herbavore, predator and just straight coral food. The complete reef is a mixture of them all.
I will say its not cheap though.

LOL. that is funny.
BTW, I think one of the 3 Anthias died. I only saw two now. How is your Anthias doing?

All are dead, care of my evil Coral Beauty Angelfish from hell. I got a sailfin the other day that's bigger than her, first time I've added a fish bigger than her and it straightened her right out. She knows she's not top dog anymore, too bad it was after $50 worth of fish

I'm going to try them again, but not for awhile. I don't think mine were great stock from day one.

That sucks. I think it is safe not to add anymore smaller fishes to your tank or else the results might be the same.
Can anyone tell me why freeze dried mysis has more protein than frozen mysis?

Yeah, no more small fish for awhile. The scary part is, my Coral Beauty is not full grown yet

It has to do with the way it's preserved. Someone on another forum I belong to explained it once, I can't find the thread right now. My fish won't eat freeze dried food, nor would my CUC.

I wish I could but if you just type rods food on google you will find it. He dosn't sell directly to the public but has links to SWF competetors.
Anyway its about $20 dollars for the large flat. Rod is very particular about his pricing so its the same everywhere. Its a little pricey but it goes a long way. Rods a member of this forum and posts under Rod Buehler I'm sure you could PM him and he will answer any questions. Best food I have ever found and I've been in the hobby a long time.
