Uh, you're missing a 3 in mine pal, and unless you have a severely modified CTS, you wouldn't even come close to sniffing my 335i

Severely modified??? a 2009 cts v stock runs 12.5s 1/4 and has 556hp

I was trying to find it, I put in CTS, forgot it was a Seville. Thats pretty good in the dark.

Yea, my dumb Sony camera doesn't pick up the electroluminescent gauges in daylight very well for some reason.

KJR knows I don't have a V. To get a CTS to match a 335i is going to require more then a few bolt-ons. Of course when you throw a blown LSx engine, the most well rounded suspension of a super sedan, and the best brakes this side of a GT-series Porsche, and call it a V, you get a different result.

And as Aqua knows, I had the pleasure of driving a CTS-V around the block about 8 months ago, certainly a thrill and one of the sweetest rides I've ever driven.

I have had the pleasure as well. honestly i got to drive one of the fist ones in SA. its stupid fast and on the verge of unuseable power. as a passenger, i asked the driver to turn off the traction control and nail it when all ready going 70mph on I-10 and when he did the car did not accel. at all, the motor became violently loud and the speedo ramped up to over 100mph, i looked back and there was the largest cloud of white smoke i had seen since the clash of the titans came down to rivercity raceway a few years back.
RAW POWER!

What a 6.2 liter V-8 isn't a bolt on(to the frame mod) pansy.

GM is putting out some crazy/stupid power these days, alot of us in the vette groups think it's the glory days before someone (hint bigbrother) steps in and things go back to the pinto power days....
With the ZR1, CTS V, ZO6 power on the dealer lots now I don't know where it will go from here, my 08 LS3 will do 12.5 in the quarter completely stock, and with two small mods that cost less than a grand and won't void my warranty I can be in the 11.8 range if I can find traction.
Get one now while you can... Stupid fast with a factory warranty!

Copy that...The turbo in the 3 is great. I had a MazdaSpeed Protege before that and was leary of another turbo,.The protege was a blast, but the turbo struggled at times and lagged because of too small of an intercooler I suspect, particularly in the hot air here in Phoenix. No such problems in the bimmer.

Intercoolers have nothing to do with the lag on a turbo. It's all about compressor size and manifold design when it comes to lag (a lot of tuning programs can retard timing to produce anti-lag, but that shortens the life of your turbo due to exessive heat from fire shooting into your turbo)
Before i got into Saltwater aquariums i was very into working on my 1.6l single over head cam civic.
Theres nothing like smoking a kid in his $50k momma bought car, in your own homemade turboed P.O.S 96 civic

that 1.6 was an excellent engine. But it is more fun in a 90 hatch. Getting 300 hp in a 2000 pound car is always fun.

who likes stock. I had a 99 FRc and a 99 Trans am both went faster than that. Stock is for whimps. Make that bad boy fly. My buddy had a street race car z 28. Fully built motor spraying a 300 shot on top of his heads cam package. It was stupid when we rode in it.

I'm struggling to follow you guys, I'm just laughing imagining a women trying to figure it out!
In a recent TIME magazine they talked about some videos on Youtube making revenue of 40k+. Try googling it

I won't argue as I know little about it, however my friend whom is a "tuner freak" said a larger intercooler would help tremendously by allowing more cool air into the turbo, which was why the car ran soooo much better on cool days, the more cool air, the less "lag" (perhaps I'm using the wrong word)....Again I'm no expert, but forget beating a 50k car in a POS 96 civic, my friend had a POS 90something Eagle Talon that could beat your average 200K Ferrari.

yeah but at the end of the day dude left in a ferrari while the talon dude went home to sleep in his parents house. I hate most of the 4 cyclinder tuner car guys. They have no idea what they are doing and they make their car actually go slower.
Kirk you wanna wake uo that car. Chip it. My buddy had the coupe. Chipped it and it ran like a raped ape. Put down near 400 rwhp. An intercooler will help but not as much you would think

Intercoolers help because they lower the heat of the air, which in turn makes it more dense and increases the per unit oxygen level.
more oxygen + more fuel = more power.
lag has to do with the fact that the turbo has to spend time spooling (building up the pressure).
Larger turbo's take longer to spool, but a large turbo at 7 psi will make much more power than a small turbo at 7 psi. People get all caught up in "how many pounds of boost do you run" but that is not what dictates the power its all about how many CFM the turbo will flow at a given psi.

I had the hatch back too (all be it a different model/year). I think it weighed in at 2300 pounds. Anything over 200 whp in a car that light is A LOT of fun.

It's a lease
, I don't really want to put money into it, I would really love to modify and put some nicer wheels on it, but.....It's a lease.

As far as the guy with the talon, he is an anesthesiologist, and makes great money, he just loves playing with different cars and making them fast and taking them to tracks. He got rid of the Talon
, now he is playing with a mid 90's (forget exactly which year) M3. I have never been thrown back in my seat as hard as I was when he gave me a ride in that AWD Talon, it was 0-30 in 1.1 seconds.
I really want an EVO Lancer when this lease runs on this one....If the wifey ok's it, not the most "family friendly" car.
It's got 4 doors though.

Is that you in the other vid doing 0-140 ?
No it's not. I'll have to devise some other method to hold the camera rather then just by hand for those kinda speeds.
