anyone ever see this happen before?

it looks like the species of feather duster that recently multiplied in my tank has taken a turbo snail as a host. is this bad? will it kill the snail? will the dusters grow and live? im just curious as to what will happen or if any one has seen this happen before.

Looks like hydroids to me.
yeppers...i agree with you Henry. definitely colonial 'droids.
they won't harm the snail unless the tentacles touch the snail itself.

Are these anywhere else in the tank? Just curious.

i dont see them any where else, but had that particular snail not made his way to the front glass i would not have noticed. i imagine they are somewhere else, i know i havnt bought snails in about 8 months so i doubt they came in on him. ive bought a couple 5lb pieces of live rock in the last few months and i always discover something new after that.
