Read on CNN that there was a 6.5 magnitude quake off the coast of California this afternoon...hope that everyone on here from Cali is OK and that there are no major injuries/losses of property after this one. Living in Ohio, I have no idea what 6.5 would feel like...the worst that I have ever felt here felt like nothing more than a semi passing the house.
Thoughts and prayers!

didnt feel it, my fiance said she felt a rumble, but that could have just been me releasing some flatulence into the couch cushions.
interesting and very little known fact, its very rare for Californians to call it "cali" in fact when i see people use Cali, I know those guys are NOT from California.

Cali is the first part of a two word phrase, Cali Forneeya
We always called it Cal or California, Pit of liberal sewage, Northern Mexico etc.

This is where it hit:
EUREKA, Calif. - A powerful offshore earthquake rattled communities in far northern California, cutting power to thousands of customers, causing minor damage to homes and businesses and forcing many people to seek treatment for cuts and bruises from falling debris.
The 6.5 magnitude temblor hit at about 4:27 p.m. PST Saturday and was centered in the Pacific about 22 miles west of Ferndale, but was felt as far south as Capitola in central California and as far north as central Oregon, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
In Eureka, about 240 miles north of San Francisco, residents of an apartment building were evacuated, and an office building and two other commercial structures were declared unsafe for occupancy, according to Humboldt County spokesman Phil Smith-Hanes.

+1
It's normally just "CA" when typed. We Californians treat California like two sub-states when we talk about it - we say NorCal/SoCal. There's really nothing else.
SoCal57Che knows what we're talking about.
If you live in NorCal, then "The City" is what we call San Francisco. There's something so hillbilly about "Frisco." It goes in the "Caluhforneeeee" category... like I need a knee-slap and a spittoon nearby just to say it.

We had a 4.something a couple days ago that shook pretty good, but the quake from yesterday wasn't felt here (San Francisco).
