Anyone know how to get rid of a skunk?

Not a good idea . As it will more than likely crawl in its den and die. then decompose and smell the place up.

You could discretely dispatch the critter with a co2 or air powered pellet rifle.

Just have the lawn mower and some basic hand tools handy.
Wait until you see the target. then take your shot.
Put away weapon.
Fire up the mower and wear a puzzled look on your face.
If police come just ask if they know anything about carbs since your keeps backfiring. If mower is brand new proceed to exagerate expression when asking about engines.
Thank them for coming out and they will smile and leave.

Ha my uncle always finds one in his racoon trap. You need to just catch it and let it die. If you shoot it it sprays plus destroys the cage and if you try moving it you get sprayed. Just put some bait in it far enough away from the house so that you don't scare it into spraying when you walk past it. It's mean but it's the only way.

Even better is antifreeze in the trap. Antifreeze is a painful death though such would destroy your digestive system so it might spray because of that.

I had a buddy that would catch raccoons in his backyard and then put the cage in a big garbage bin filled with water so they would drown. The b-stard.
At least a gun shot is quick. Drowning? Terrible.

As much as I hate the opussums around here...I can't kill them..LOL...my husband shoots them in the head...I told him it has to be a quick death

Skunks are sweet creatures with very poor eyesight. You do not want to scare it for the obvious reasons. A trap is out of the question.
They roam to find food. Leave a tasty morsel in its path to draw it away from its happy new home and shove some moth balls in there. It won’t go back.
Please check to make sure no babies are in there.

Those are creepy animals. One morning around 5 I was walking out of the house, and one fell off the roof, and almost landed on me. Scared the living daylights out of me.

fill the bucket with water
put something like sunflower seads to completley cove the surface of the water
the skunk will go to get the food and will drownd!
