I thought Sun Coral were very hard to maintain? These things are anything but. They grow like weeds, and they move around the rock. The Clownfish wont go near them either.

Mojano have a very potent sting, likely too strong for clowns, and their sting will harm/kill just about all other corals. Time to kill them and fast.

ya i agree now, if they grow like weeds and everything tends to avoid it than its porb mojano...aspestiaX would be my solution. I did this to a mojano just a couple weeks ago. Make sure to move in slowly and aim for the middle, when moving in slow itll hopefully contract on the needle and swallow in some of the good stuff! Good luck man and welcome to the site!

p.s. i believe joes juice is the same but better from wat ive heard

That is what I had typed as the first response but my post didn't show...Makes me wonder what glitch my computer is doing now. . At any rate +1, aptasia X or Joes juice will work, you can also just pop them off the rock they are not like aptasia that draws up into the rock. These guys just close up into a ball. Chacolate chip stars eat them if this is a fish only, because they are not reef safe.

I used a wood skewer to try to remove them (they are stuck on the rock really well) so more or less squished them. I talked to the LFS he has a product that treats the water to kill any left overs. He did say it takes about 4 treatments but they have had better success with it then Joes Juice or the X. Once I get it I'll post what it is.
Again thanks for the help. Nice talking to all of you.

If you put something in the tank that treats the water itself to kill it, then you will kill everything else as well. That means you poison your tank against coral and anemones. Squishing them does not kill them, they grow back a whole for every piece like a worm does.
if you had just gently nudged it until it released......patients was needed.
Joes juice or aptasia X are spot killers so you don't poison the entire tank. I wish they had some way of testing people to see if they are competent before giving them a job at a SW fish store and offering solutions that do more harm than good. Every new tank should boldly post a warning NOT to listen to people who are offering advice in a fish store.

The fish store Owner I spoke with has very reputable business, and is known by everybody in the hobby here in AZ. Quarantines all his fish for 30 days prior to selling, will not sell you something that he feels may damage your reef. I dont think he would destroy someones tank for a $17.00 purchase. He specifically said it will not hard the entire tank.
I will post what the product is once I get it.

ya im not gonna lie, i dont trust many lfs workers. No matter if i consider them my friends or no matter how nice they are to me. Bottom line is they are trying to sell and move product! I tend to know more than they do lol, which isnt really that much. Its funny to have them ask questions when they are the ones working their! I still try to help em out anywayz....especially the younger folks.
The treatment u are talking about might not be the best choice imo.....ive already suggested wat i think u should do. By taking a big toothpick to these guys, u could just irritate them and they will release more spores when threatened....more spores means more mojano!

It's also possible your store guy thinks you want a fish only tank and if that's the case he would certainly sell you a product that will indeed poison your tank against anemones or coral, thinking it won't matter to you. You may not realize what you sound like when you talk to him about your tank.
I don't know how many times I hear the folowing scenario.... I told you my problem and you sold me this stuff, now because of your advice I have this problem and the last sentence is OH I thought you meant......
So before you go back to the store be sure make a list so you can tell him EVERYTHING about your tank and future plans. For example if you want a reef later on, but right now all you have is fish in there, be sure to mention that. He may have asked you if you have any coral and if you said no he will think you don't want to ever have coral. Such mix ups has caused folks to put copper in their tanks for a sick fish, and now can't keep coral at all.
I'm just trying to help. Not long ago a young person put some algae killer in their tank...macos can't grow, the algae eaters and CUC were starving and this person had no idea why. A small misunderstanding is all it takes.

Thanks, I will make sure he knows I have a reef tank. And everything else I can think of to insure he recommends the correct product.

I got it wrong. He was saying that they didnt have much success with Joes Juice, and aptasia X doesnt really work well on majano's, unless you do at least 4 treatments with it. Lesson learned, I imagine I will have a hugh colony of these critters within a few weeks. So you're righ,t there is no water treatment to rid the tank of them.

Well if you don't have any coral in the tank yet...get a Chocolate chip sea star. In one day it will clear your tank of any majano, and before you buy coral take it back to the store or give it to a friend with a fish only tank. Not one single majano will remain.
