The LFS told me this would help me get my tank ready. I told them I had High nitrates. The tank has been running for about 4 weeks the LR in there for about 3. Well the stuff is Stability by seachem.

I did a 40% water change a week ago and my Nitrates did not budge so I wanted to try something else to kinda speed up the process so I can get my clean up crew in there. I know rushing in sw is bad, but just wanted to know if this worked for anyone...

I agree with the above. You would only remove the nitrates temporarily and not find the source of the problem. Without removing that you will keep fighting high nitrates.

Its above 100 and when i did the water change in my big bucket
it was 1 to 2 ppm.

Im going to say this again and +1 some of the above posts
Water changes are the best way to remove nitrates
You need to be patient in this hobby you do not want to rush
Just keep on doing daily water changes until you get the nitrates down to an acceptable level and experiment for a while (once again patience) with the water changes to see how often you need to do them for the levels to remain were you want them(for me its about a 20% every week)
Also what test kit are you using?

Bang just a point of info on Vodka dosing and nitrates. I did some extensive research on vodka dosing you may remember the thread I started on it a while ago. One of the leading research papers was a study preformed by Mrutzek and Kokott(2004). Their study started with a nitrate level of 25 mg/L and Phosphate lever of 43 mg/l. after dosing with vodka for 41 days the result were phosphates dropped to 0 after 34 days and nitrates dropped to 0 after 35 days. Nitrates stayed that way for 4 days then climbed to 0.025 mg/L and stabilized at that level

you may have a bad test kit, it happens. take the water to your fish store and have them test it.

That is interesting. There must be something to it then. I'll have to review their study to see what they do differently.
