Better to help out then complain about the system, I am now a 2nd term elected Mayor.
Congratulations.
Dont know why. I believe that the politicians work for the people not the other way around, after all isnt that the reason they choose to run for political office and were elected? Over the years there seems to be an increasing trend that several politicians are taking ,they flip flop and sway around constantly changing sides on an issue and saying what ever will make them popular. This is somewhat hypocritical and shows a serious lack foundation and commitment for public service IMO. I dont trust most of them because they are afraid to take a stand. Doing whats right is often unpopular and because of this many good people (not career politicians) who could make positive changes are excluded from ever running for office. Money also keeps good people from obtaining office, which IMO is corrupt. Most every politician I have met is so far removed from the average person they may as well be living on another planet. They live in big houses, make lots of money, never wait in line, never wait in traffic, have maids and are largely unaffected by the issues that the average citizen faces on a daily basis, so how can they possibly relate to or even begin to know how to fix anything? This is why most politicians are inneffective.
IMO many politicians run for office for purposes of power and greed and simply dont care about helping the people who elected them. The problem with politics is politicians.
