Hi,
Please answer the following questions.
1. Do you know if AquaC Remora Pro can be hang on the sump instead the tank? If yes, how high the sump should be and would it work properly?
2. Is it possible to hang AquaC Remora Pro if the tank's upper rim is 1.5"?
Thank you,
Mila

First lemme point out that Remora does make an in sump skimmer called the Urchin or something like that... But to answer your questions...
Yes it can be hung on a sump, but the sump would hafta be tall. The skimmer hangs down 15 inches from where it hangs on.
And yes it will hang over a 1.5 inch lip. It can actually hang over a lip up to 2 inches...

Thank you very much for information provided. Very helpfull.
I am afraid that Urchin + pump will not fit a 6" wide sump.

I just read your other post and so I took a pic for you. If it's to wide, I think a Bak-Pak is thinner.:)
Sorry it's upsidedown but both the camera and the TM are for the right hand, lol

sorry to bud in, but does that skimmer work well? Is it quiet? I think my seaclone has crapped out and I am in the market for a new one?
Thanks

Works well for me. It's in my bedroom so I would say it is fairly quiet. I switched from a Seaclone to the Remora and I'm happy I did.

Yeah, I like it!! That's one purchase I didn't regret. As far as quiet, I think so... It makes noise but I got used to it. It's about as loud as a small floor fan. White noise you just kinda get used to. But if you need a hang on tank model, I would highly recommend it!!

Just realize before you get one, that the overflow box on the upgraded model is HUGE!! It's something like 12"x10"x4". That's not exact, but it's close!!

Yeah, you buy it seperately. It's around $18. No you don't need it. All it is is an overflow box that concentrates on the very surface water. A lot of people don't have one.

well, I picked up the Aqua C Remora skimmer on the weekend. How long did it take yours to break in and start producing foam?
And with that rubber o-ring the height of the overflow is adjusted, what height has worked best for you?
Thanks

I, at first put the ring at the highest level and I adjusted it lower over a period of time. I still to this day adjust it accordingly. It only took a couple of days to break in though. If you put any of that suspension food in your tank, (like Kents microvert) then BEWARE!! Your skimmer will suck it all up. Mine did and the cup on top overflowed...twice!!

yah I learn't that lesson with my old seaclone. well the Remora has been running for 2 days now and it is still spitting out micro bubbles into the tank and not skimming, I am sure it will start working soon.

I don't know about the microbubbles, mine doesn't do that. If they are annoying you can write to Jason, he's the pres of Remora (I think...) anyway his response time is awesome!!

I also just purchased an AquaC Remora Pro as my first skimmer. It has been running for 3 days now. After the first 24 hrs with the cup as low as it will go, there was alot of wet green slime in it. Practically nothing at all since then. Mine was also sending millions upon millions of microbubbles into the tank. I solved this by placing a piece of foam in front of the return shoot, down low so it doesn't back the water up or anything. This didn't stop the bubbles completely, but it did help tremendously. I would really like to see some more stuff in the cup though. The paper that came with it said the break in period of 2 weeks, so I guess it is going to be awhile.

What is your salinity? If salinity is low, then skimmers won't work as well. Also, you may just have pretty good water quality in which case you won't get so much skim.
