Aquq C Remora Pro skimmer for a 29 gallon reef

Hi everybody
I have a 29 gallon reef tank and lately I have been thinking about buying a skimmer to avoid doing weekly water changes. Perhaps If I had a skimmer I would do a monthly water change instead of doing it weekly. There is a friend of mine selling an Aqua C remora Pro Skimmer and Micro Bubble Box Reducer
for $150dlls Canadian. It is a gread deal since he bought these 2 items only few months ago. However, I am debating whether this skimmer is the right one for my Reef Tank. I have read that The Aqua C Remora Skimmer is a great skimmer and apparently it is recommended for Tank Size: 60-125 Gallons and mine is only 29 gallons.
The fish in the tank are 1 Bicolor Blenny, 2 Clowns, 1 Orchid Dottyback and 1 Yellow Watchman Goby, 1 Fire shrimp,1 Peppermint shrimp and a few snails and a coupld of crabs.
I keep mostly soft corals in the tank such Green Metallic Torch, Green Candy Cane, Xenia, Hammer, Frogspawn, Bubble Coral and I wonder if this skimmer would get rid of all of the nutrients in water leaving nothing for these corals
I would really appreaciate your input......I have to decide sonner than later if I am going to buy this skimmer as my friend wants to sell it to buy a bigger skimmer for his tank.
Basically yhe question is: Would this skimmer overskim my tank leaving 0 nutrients in the water column for the soft corals?

Here is a link for the skimmer in case you guys want to check it out.

No, that skimmer won't overskim anything, It is always a good idea to buy skimmer a little Overrated for your tank size.
As far as getting the skimmer to avoid constant water changes is not good.
That is a Great skimmer for a 29g, but I would still keep up with the water changes rituals. You need both IMO there's things that you can't do with a skimmer and Visa Versa..

I thought that one of the reasons to have a skimer was to not do weekly water changes. As far as I know, a skimmer helps to get rid of all the crap so the water remnains cleaner.
Can other members give their opinion with respect to this please!!! Right now I am not using a skimmer and my tank is doing well but I want to buy a skimmer so I don't have to do weekly water changes. I thought that having a skimmer would allow me to do water changer every 3 weeks or month.
cheers

Ok i'll give you my last $.02
yeah skimmers will take care of the waste and crap, But it won't replenish Important elements and keep water quality optimal. I would rather just do weekly Water changes than to just have a skimmer..IMO it doesn't work that way ***)

I have a friend who has been keeping SW tanks for over 20 years. He currently has 5 tanks, the biggest one is 400 gallons and If i remmeber well he does water changes every 3 to 4 months. I am not sure if he can get away with this because his tank is massive or perhaps the skimmer and sump with lots of macro algae allow him do do this.
I am a newbie ....trying to learn lots from the experts :)

I have the regular Remora on my 29 gallon and it works great, though the Pro may be overkill for your tank. I suppose you could get around that by using a smaller pump and/or raising the collection cup so you don't skim so much. Skimmers do remove some useful stuff from your tank, so spacing water changes out too far may be a bad idea if you're skimming a lot.

I have a different question - 125g long, looking at purchasing the aqua c remora as well. (tank not set up yet)
Question is would I need 2 aquaC remora's or just one aquaC pro. I might have an issue with space behind the tank that is why I was looking at two of the smaller ones??

You should probably have something much bigger than a Remora for a tank your size.

No. Raise the collection cup so you don't collect foam as fast.

What do you suggest then:
125g long, fowlr
ro/di water
fluval 405 canister
3 MJ1200
100lbs ls
100lbs lr
Have to get a HOT skimmer, don't have a choice. I am not putting a sump in due to reasons out of my control. And the tank also can't be set that far from the wall - I am looking at a couple of inches max.
Most of yall complain about the wife with the budget and well it is the space in the boyfriends house.. And the fact that he doesn't want water all over his livingroom (more of a chance with a sump?).
