Hi everybody
I have a 29 gallon reef tank and lately I have been thinking about buying a skimmer to avoid doing weekly water changes. Perhaps If I had a skimmer I would do a monthly water change instead of doing it weekly. There is a friend of mine selling an Aqua C remora Pro Skimmer and Micro Bubble Box Reducer for $150dlls Canadian. It is a gread deal since he bought these 2 items only few months ago. However, I am debating whether this skimmer is the right one for my Reef Tank. I have read that The Aqua C Remora Skimmer is a great skimmer and apparently it is recommended for Tank Size: 60-125 Gallons and mine is only 29 gallons.
The fish in the tank are 1 Bicolor Blenny, 2 Clowns, 1 Orchid Dottyback and 1 Yellow Watchman Goby, 1 Fire shrimp,1 Peppermint shrimp and a few snails and a coupld of crabs.
I keep mostly soft corals in the tank such Green Metallic Torch, Green Candy Cane, Xenia, Hammer, Frogspawn, Bubble Coral and I wonder if this skimmer would get rid of all of the nutrients in water leaving nothing for these corals
I would really appreaciate your input......I have to decide sonner than later if I am going to buy this skimmer as my friend wants to sell it to buy a bigger skimmer for his tank.
Basically yhe question is: Would this skimmer overskim my tank leaving 0 nutrients in the water column for the soft corals?
Here is a link for the skimmer in case you guys want to check it out.
