are these zoos or button polyps?

They were sold as zoanthid frags, but now that they have opened up more, they kinda look like button polyps to me. (but I am new and could be wrong). What do you all think?

they are both. there is pallys and zoanthids on that rock. in the zoanthids world you will find that most places kind of lump them all together in the same "type" of coral. so many types of polyps peoiple just say zoanthids to make it easier.
BTW that is an ORA rock. they are sending them out alot right now. when the sellers get them they are a super nice blue pally. but if put under lesser light for a few weeks they turn that greenish brown. keep them under very high MH and you will find they turn into a super nice blue.
i have some that are under 400 watts halides and they kept the blue color but the ones under 150's turn that color. in any case a very nice pally IMO

what is an ORA? and I don't know what a pally is. but I did notice that some of them did have a nice blue color to them, especially in the tips. I bought it mostly for the bright orange ones. I'm hopping the orange one's will spread more. I can't get MH for my tank. It's a 12 aquapod and the only retro fit cover things leave my tank open. We take care of menatally disabled adults and I'm afraid they would "Add" things to my tank if left uncovered. I'd probably wake to find Barbie sitting on the bottom of my tank!!

The Yellow ones are Yellow colony polyps
The others look to be both button polyps and zoo's.
I have always been told that polyps are individuals speading out
on a rhyzome like vein and have a taller stem.
Zoo's spread out on a mat like structure and have short stems giving them the matt or carpet appearance. I can only say what I have learned, but the world of marine invertabrate taxonomy is changing alot. Look at the year any author obtained his marine degree(s) and watch the diffences in taxonomy.
Hell when I was in school the entire group was simply Coelentorata. Now they have changed taxonomy a bunch. Coelentorates used to be all inverts not having a different (or using the same one) mouth and anus!
