You are not allowed to post those kind of pictures. Besides you shouldn't be looking. Inter species breeding!

The Mandarin was so pretty I didn't notice the sand sifter until Spanko said something. I went back to look, and there it was big as day.

Cute pictures, we love pictures.

What R U feeding the little Mandarin?
My tank is loaded with copepods, and just recently I saw some very large amphipods (IDK if it eats them) I also have a load of pods in my sump...
IDK if it is eating any of the food I put in for the fish...BUT with the supply of pods..it shouldn't need any..

Sounds like you wont have a problem keeping her happy
but just keep an eye open for those copepods, those Mandarins eat constantly.
FYI my population dropped rapidly so to make sure she stays fat and sassy I supplement her diet with bloodworms.
I use a turkey baster to feed her and she loves eating them right out of the tube!

I know when you set up the sump you were worried,
, about the pods making it into the display. Have you seen an abundance of pods in the display or are you just going on what you see in the sump?
Curious minds need to know.

meowzer,
How long has your tank been established and at what point did you add the mandarin?
The tank was set up July 1, 2008....I added the mandarin somewhere around January/February
....I have a list of dates at home...but that's somewhere in the ballpark.

I would imagine if they can get them they will eat them. Maybe just the smaller ones though, don't really know for sure.
