AW2X3 and others... my first moray

k i got my first eel for my 55 eel tank. He came in a an "assorted mexican moray". The guy told me he will get a little over 3 feet. he is brown with black spots and has that sort of "fin like thing" that a blue ribbon eel has( the yellow fin thing) I really dont know what he is as i cannot find info. any ideas?

sounds like some dragon moray. in the future dont evr buy anything that is "assorted" it can be a bad thing

hes still adjusting in there but when i get home ill get some pics. note he has like 3 millimeter sized teeth. there like white but razor sharp.

looks like a jeweled in that picture, but that doesnt match your description :thinking:

since its like 1 foot big couldit be a jeweled moray juvi and later on change colors?

At one foot long, comparing from that picture, it could be a juvenile Green Moray and we'd never know it.

really? i dunno. my guys eye is like orange and the ellow head is white. but could mine be a juvi?

btw i have been feeding him once a day because i am assuming hes a juvi.... being 1 foot. he is eating pieces of scalops in garlic. should i be feeding him differently?
and aw2x3 what is that site that you are a moderator on?
do you know any eel sites?

looks like a small Fimbriated Moray. Probaly not the best choice for a 55. Once he gets bigger he will more than likley have your fish for a snack.
