Flower...they weren't in a cluster.....they were scattered all over the walkway.....which is quite long
IDK if the ycan eat on their own yet...I just put the seed in there JIC while I am at work....My cat in indoors..lol...and I will be testing their flight skills OUTside,,,haha
If they were all over...sounds like mommy pushed them out of the nest.
If they can't eat on their own, they may be dead by the time you get back...baby birds (small size types) must eat every hour or they starve. I only really know about parrots, but a birds digestion system is pretty much the same no matter the bird. Birds eat many times their own weight in food a day. Dried bread may have been a better choice than seed. We put seed in our bird feeders, but that's really just a treat. Birds eat berries, crubs and other insects as a rule. Seed is is very hard on the tummy and it makes their wings waxy....but they love it.
Good fortune in your efforts....I hope it all works out.

WELL, I am just gonna have to hope for the best while I am at work :(
thanks
See that sad face...that's why I don't try and save the wild things.....I have tried to save baby bunnies, baby groundhogs, baby squirrels, baby birds and baby raccoons.
My personal experience.....

  • Baby bunnies have no hope

  • Baby groundhogs like the baby raccoons are great until they are older
Baby squirrels can go rabid, which is why I NEVER, EVER will try to rescue another one.
Baby birds (not eating on their own), like baby bunnies never made it.
I saved a baby blue bird from the cold once...as soon as it warmed up it nearly killed itself trying to get out....I released it as soon as I could catch it. I had put it in a bird cage and it banged against the cage so hard I thought it would kill itself...when I opened the cage door it flew out...what a fun time that was.

well, I have to say, I saved three bunnys, someone ran over thier nest with a lawn mower, they had no fur and thier eyes were still closed and bulging. One had a cut on its side. I was about 12. I bottle fed them formula and once they were big enough, I released them in a park.
Raised a baby racoon from about 4 weeks old also a baby skunk from about the same age. They too were released. We took them there everyday to get them use to the wild. Was it right? I dont know, did they survive after release?? We will never know, but at least we gave them a chance.

If they look like they can start to fly I'd take them back to area where you found them and put them in a tree or large shrub. The parents might connect with them but I doubt it but at least you know there will be others of that species in the area so the youngins will be able to join a flock which will give them the best chance to survive.

My baby bunnies never made it through the night (2 seperate times)....I was suprised they could jump out of the box, they had fur and were very small like mice in size. I don't remember if the eyes were open. My kids were small back then, so it's been some time.
The baby squirrel went rabid and had crazy eyes...it was trying to break the glass on the 20g aquarium I had put it in. I was so afriad of rabies around my kids...I called animal control, and I never bothered the wild babies again.
When I was a girl, my Grandmother had a baby skunk, and removed the stink glands...he was pretty cool. I don't think the laws will allow one now as a pet, a vet removed the stink glands. I was also a kid when we rescued the raccoons, their mother was hit by a car. Poor critters were staying close to the dead mother on the side of the road. I don't recall where we got the baby groundhog.
My Blue front amazon parrot I got as an egg. I had a lady feed and wean him for me. JellyBean Jorge is 4 years old now. None of the baby birds we rescued as kids ever made it, which is why I never tried to keep the parrot until it was old enough to feed itself....birds are hard
Since the squirrel, I haven't rescued anything but baby kittens.

My great Grandfather had a pet skunk. I never saw it but my mom said it was a cool pet. I had or tended all kinds of parrots and Macaws. Had a pet Raven for a while when we were kids. My brother caught it while we were staying at a cabin. It actually stood on a low hanging limb and let him walk up to it. We put it in the bathtub of the cabin we were staying in and used an old screen door as a top. My brother lifted the screen off to show my grandma and the damned thing said "hello" pretty plain. Obviously somebody's pet at some point. We couldn't find out who's so we took it home. After about two months with us the thing got away. It wasn't long after that that there was a story in the paper. The receptionist at a vet clinic kept hearing a ticking noise at the door. She opened the door and there stood an injured raven. They said it appeared to be tame and allowed them to pick it up and treat it. Had to be the same bird. Me and my brother wanted to try to claim it but my mom wouldn't let us.

That's a great site! It tells you about each type of baby bird. It also says it's against the law to keep one, no matter the breed....

But notice how they spelled Center? Are they even in the USA?

Awesome, the Texas State Aquarium in corpus, does rescues, of various animals including birds. They lost a white breasted crow the other day. I was kinda laughing.
