they say to keep it about 1/8 inch from in the intake. I keep mine about 3/4 of an inch. I used to keep it down low and it would fill up way too fast

Id put it here and see how that works out. Did you make any modifications to it at all? The foam is good. Its just at the rate it flows in. I keep mine were the line I made is. It fills up daily. If you keep it down too low it will fill up 2 even 3 times a day and mostly full of water.

This doesnt need to break in. If I lower my cup it will fill with water barely get any skimmate. If you raise the cup it will get more skim and way less water.

probably not. Hell I started my 75 a little while back. I have had fish in it now for two weeks and my asm gx1 picks up a little bit.

I know I have only had this skimmer on a few hours, but I am seriously thinking of buying another for my 54g horse tank and replacing my wonderful seaclone.....
