What do these guys eat? I was told they would eat the same foods as my damsels but he hasn't eaten anything yet and I'm afraid he's gonna starve...
I've been feeding frozen brine shrimp and flake food... <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

All i know is that these guys are pigs! We always have like 30 on hand in my lfs, and they eat EVERYTHING. They love flake, for some odd reason, but their fav would definately have to be frozen mysis shrimp. They go crazy over the stuff. How long have you had the fish? if he is fairly new, he might not be accustomed to your tank quite yet. Just mix it up feed him one thing in th emorning and another in the evening. He should come out of it! good luck!

I have 3 bangers, and they eat almost anything I put in the tank. Their favorite by far is marine quisine. I also feed shrimp chopped real small, brine shrimp and slow sinking pellets. So far, so good. I have seen them eating pods too, but they go nuts at feeding time. :)

Actually, I've only had him 3 days. He looks incredibly healthy, he's gorgeous but I sure don't want him to starve. I guess I'll just give him a couple more days to get used to the routine in the tank. My damsels are so pushy though at feed time.......I thought that may be a problem too since he's so quiet and reserved.

Sadly, I had the same problem with a new Bangaii, he never ate and died about 2 weeks after introduction. He has been my one fish loss and I was very disappointed becaues I spent so much time on water quality and he had only one tankmate, a Midas Blenny that left him alone. I hope it works out for you, live food didn't help for me either.

we had to feed ours frozen brine shrimp and squid with a turkey baster at first, we have to use it for our scooter anyway, so now when we get out teh turkey baster, the shy old bengaii comes running out from his corner, but he wasn't eating at first,
anyhow, if you can't get him to eat this am, i'd call the lfs you bought him at and see what they weere using, maybe he got used to something they have, we had this problem with t apair of clowns, and when we called, he told us what to try and if that did not work in 1 day that he wanted the fish back ASAP anyhow sadly he got them back(my wife really liked theat pair) and was able to save them and we got another pair and in a couple of days they were eating again but the point is, did he save them or were they gonna start eating anyway? i don't know but i'm glad they are alive, and i am positive his efforts did help the situation(if anything it didn't hurt)

I had been having the same problem with my Bangi Cardinal. He wasn't eating the frozen cubes when fed and my wife could only get him to eat a few flakes by placing them right near him away from the other fish. He had been hiding up in a corner between the return line and the overflow box. It turned out that we had a clown fish that was a bully in the tank and was constantly chasing him. Once we traded in the clown it is like having a brand new fish, he eats like a champ anthing that is fed to teh tank is is always swimming out in the open. Good luck getting him to eat.
