Of course they care about profit, its capitalism and the entire industry wouldn't exist without profit; neither would this forum. Any dealer that doesn't take care of an $800 fish sure won't last long. Easy for me to say; but I doubt that the fish is really that "unhappy" ( an emotion I really don't credit fish with having.) IMO, fish care about 3 things: eating, not being eaten, and reproducing. If all he has to do is sit there and eat; I doubt that he's really that miserable. Miserable fish=stress=disease=death=lost $ to that capitalist pig dealer.
I laughed aloud.

3 grand? try 50 grand +..absolutely amazing to me
back to the whole barracuda thing as well..i wouldnt ever eat a barracuda as they are scavengers....and you know that means they eat anything
Barracudas are mid-water predators and eat, almost exclusively, live fish. They certainly are not scavengers. The great delicacies of the sea, lobsters & crabs are true scavengers.

Most full grown flowerhorns are only 40 bucks or so, so when someone says 800 I'm curious...
if you look around premium flowerhorns can sell for thousands in the asian markets. Don't ask me why
