Bear Grylls from "Man vs. Wild"

If there is such a thing as the man card, I think Bear Grylls gets a permanent one. Based upon his TV series "Man vs. Wild" I think the guy could take up ballet and watch chick-flicks all day and still be man enough to keep the card.
Does anyone else agree with me?

If the Bear gets 1 card, (minus the fact that he has OSHA and other groups making sure he wears his PFD ...), Then Les Stroud should get more than one. I have never seen him with anything that was not " what a standard person" would have for a simple excursion.

Survivorman is the generic brand of Man vs. Wild. That's why it's not on TV anymore. This supposed "survivorman" comes with a ton of camping gear. I remember watching one episode where it was more like a vacation for him... the guy had a boat and everything. I don't think he gets any man-card because he's a poser... he acts like he's surviving in the wild, but with many of the luxuries you'd find in a home.
Bear Grylls has the clothes on his back, a hunting knife and a flint. Everything he does is for survival. In some cases, he has to rip up his clothes just to get to where he needs to go.
AND Bear finds his way to civilization. Survivorman has a GPS beacon so they can find him and pick him up after 7 days... SERIOUSLY? I GPS beacon? Yes. A GPS beacon. Man-card revokation IMO.

Les Shroud even had a jeep in one of his episodes! He had to pretend it ran out of gas! What a joke.
What about that episode where he had a dogsled and then he lost the dogs becuase he couldn't control them. FAIL.

Hmm, it is a known fact that for at least the first few seasons of Man vs Wild that Bear Grylls did not in fact stay outside or do anything "survivor-like". He stayed in hotels at night, ate in restaurants and had a camera and safety crew with him at all times. You complain about Les Stroud having a GPS locater on him? Bear has a CAMERA CREW!!!! You think for a that the crew is staying out in the rain and eating bugs and live snakes? I certainly dont think so. I guarentee that they all have cell or satellite phones with them.
Les Stroud, on the other hand, is the real deal. He goes out on his own, eats only what he can find himself and stays outside in shelters that he builds. His show is based on what could be considered real life events, like getting lost at sea, which is why he often has things like a boat around.

Once when Bear was demonstrating how to test water depth before jumping into a pool of water at the bottom of a small waterfall. As he jumped his life preserver peeked out from under his shirt.
Revoked!!
If you want to witness some real men surviving in harsh conditions then check out Manhunt on the military channel.

Les gets into situations that is plausible for survivors. Your car runs out of gas, he shows you what you can use in your car to survive. The GPS beacon is a safeguard - but it represents getting out into a city or civilization - just like what you would be doing if you were lost and trying to survive.
I think Les deserves more then one permanent man card.

both good shows. they both shud have a permanent mancard
BEar- CRAZY MAN! he does lots of razy stuff makes for good entertainment. Shows you how to get out. A lot of the stuff he does though is risky and probably not a good idea unless the situation becomes life and death because you could wind up gettin more hurt.
les- Not as crazy or daredevil like so not as entertaining one could say. Still does crazy stuff plus he is out there alone. His situations seems more plausable suh as your car breaks down in the desert how do you survive, or you plane crashes in alaskan wilderness. Safer alternative, survive until rescue comes .
The both have gps trackers and wat not who cares.

Not saying it isnt real, but he is never, ever in any danger, unlike Les. Les is out there alone and anything can happen. Bear has his crew waiting to take him back to a cushy hotel room after the shoot.

i hate survivor man with a passion.it dosent matter if bear has a camera crew that just means that there are more people to worry about like in one episode they were going down a 90 deegree cliff bear has to worry about his camera crew as well as himself whereas les just worries about himself and les conplains about every situation he is like a child. in man vs wild bear and his crew were in the austrailian outback he killed a like 8' aligator just to get food another time he found a dead canel in the desert cut the chest open threw all of the guts out and slept in it another ime he found elephant poo and squeezed it above his head just to get liquid i mean come on if you think survivor man is more insane than ur crazy

Bear is kind of a fraud. He is entertaining and knows his stuff but as was mentioned he stays in hotels and has real food etc.
The other guy really lives under the conditions you see on the show.

Com'on Bear is out there at night eatin Filet Mignon with his 30 man camera crew!
Les Stroud AKA Survivorman is still on T.V. the most recent season ended a couple of weeks ago. The reason he has jeeps and dogsleds is to recreate actuall survival situations, not "Hey lets sky dive into here with my 30 man crew just for the H*** of it!" As for the dog sled try surviving feeding a dog team ontop of feeding yourself.
