Here's some pics since I haven't posted any in a while... I've gotten some new coral recently and there are a couple pieces of base rock just added that still have that shiny white look...

This pic has what's supposed to be a feather duster, but it never grew it's crown quite right.... and my other one keeps dropping it's crown (grr)....but the shot shows some zoas and shrooms that I like.

Thanks, yup, can't wait to start on the next tank...haha.
I'll definitely need to come by after the current project deadline is over at work....unfortunately, keeping real busy right now. Deadline to get everything programmed and online is mid-December, as long as we stay on track...heh.

It's only a 55, for now. Started a year ago with a 12 gallon nano, setup this one 6 months ago, and I'm planning a 180 to have up by next spring/summer. Yea, it's a PC (CF) light fixture, the Current Dual Satellite. When I do the 180 I'll definitely have MH; thinking a fixture with 4 x 96w PC actinic and 3 x 250w MH. I want to keep SPS and clams in that one.

Thanks! It's certainly got a long way to go...I can't wait to see the zoas grow out more, though everything in there has almost doubled in size since adding it. The frogspawn is finally about to split into 2 heads, it's almost tripled in size since moving it over from the 12 gallon. It stayed the same size for 6 months in that....heh.

Dunno, I pulled them off just last week. They were there hitchhikers on the LR when I got it, but after researching for a while I couldn't figure out what they were. They didn't do anything, just sorta hang out.

Monk, beautifull tank! What is your secret to keeping your sand clean, and did you QT the hippo before putting him in the DT?

Thanks. The top layer of sand is a recent add, which is partly due to the answer to both your questions....heh.
So, I got the hippo in august (I'm in the process of putting together a 180 setup for tangs and SPS, the main reason I got that one) and didn't QT - which was a mistake. I had a firefish and royal gramma at the time as well. So, the tang broke out with ich, infected all the fish, so I scrambled and put them all in QT in 2 separate tanks and went through hypo. The royal gramma and firefish didn't make it, which was a big bummer, but my biggest concern was the clowns; I've had them for a year and didn't want to loose them. Of course, while the tank is empty, you should ghost feed occasionally, and I also still spot fed my coral, so I ended up with a bit of a cyano outbreak....heh. I siphoned out the top level of sand to get rid of the cyano and only recently re-added more to fill it back out.
Learned quite a bit the hard way here, but it's been nearly a month and a half with the clowns and hippo back in the DT and everyone is happy. Lessen learned is to always QT and hypo new arrivals.

I begin with the 180 next month. I've got a used one picked out with a guy and will be giving him a deposit this weekend. He's going to move his stuff over to a 300 and when that's all said and done I'll start building that one up. The 55 will stay up as-is, though when the 180 is cycled and has been running a while the hippo will be moved over to her new home. I can't wait!!

Haha, yeah, it is pretty funny. She sure doesn't take any heat from them though. She's "almost" as big as the small clown, but just isn't quite there yet.

I knew there was something fishy........ :) about that sand! I am just about finished with my first run at hypo. What a process.... Such a PITA! But I, as well, will hypo all new arrivals. Good luck on the 180, can't wait to watch the progress.

im also setting up a 55 reef and a 29gal QT and what do u mean when u say hypo new fish???
